Don't. Just don't.

There were some mildly interesting parts. This is a very large number of very short video clips. It almost gets very interesting, but then it returns to a boring lull because each story is short. The stories are interesting but so short that there are no actual actors to care about. No character development because there are no real characters (i.e., people are acting but have very little screen time so that I could not describe a single character). I would rate this much higher if there were characters to care about. The overall story plot is weak, but could have been much better.

Also, Why does a movie geared toward English speaking audiences make entire clips in Spanish? This would be completely acceptable if there were subtitles for translation. All closed captions are in English. There are many useless scenes because it is in Spanish only. Had to fast forward a lot. I would give this zero stars if I could.

Better than Expected. Good short stories

Initially, as soon as the actress with the dark hair started talking, I wanted to just be done with the movie; however, since I paid for it, decided ot give it at least 15 minutes. Luckily, she only had small scenes so she was tolerable. Anyway, the stories were pretty cool and diversified enough to keep my attention. I wouldn't say it's the greatest film ever but it's good enough for a reduced price rental.

Two stars and only because some of the stories were pretty good. As many have already stated, WTF is up with having a story completely in Spanish without subtitles!?!? I know enough Spanish to understand some of what was said and written but it was incredibly stupid to have that segment without subtitles translating what they was actually saying. This movie ultimately failed at what it tried to do. There was no suspense, no build-up to that "final reveal". Which is why it ultimately failed. A movie like this in experienced hands would have been great but, unfortunately, this was made by someone more amateur than not. The ending was not only extremely cliche, it was also pretty lazy writing that failed to scare. A witch seeking revenge? Really!? THAT is all you could come up with!?!? I could come up with something better in the time it takes to write this review. I would NEVER watch this again, and I would NEVER recommend this movie to anyone. Interesting concept ruined by poor writing, poor directing, and actors that weren't right for the parts they had.

~ A few friends agree to get together and play The 100 Candles Game, whereas the participants agree to tell 100 scary stories inside a circle of lit candles.
~ After they each take turns telling their story one at a time, then each must go into a closed room with a lit candle, and face a mirror, then blow out the candle. Unsure of what they will see or feel in the dark.
~ As each participant progresses in telling their story, some become frustrated, some become impatient, but they must not leave until the game is finished, & all 100 stories are told.
~ Needless to say, it is at the end that the scariest story is told, & the participants shall surely get really scared, perhaps even scared to death.

Warning: don't be stupid in a haunted house
Verified purchase
The gist of this movie is as follows: a group of friends sneak into a presumably haunted house and play a game of 100 candles. They light a candle, tell a story and we as the audience are treated to an anthology-like series of short horror vignettes (not a hundred due to time constraints, thankfully). Then, we get to follow the characters as they slowly realize that, get this, they never should have entered the haunted house to play a cursed game. At this point, these movies just feel like a fictional attempt at population control.

Pretty decent--worth a watch

This is a horror anthology--meaning, it's a collection of horror shorts put together with an overarching story that doesn't have anything to do with the shorts. In this case it's people telling scary stories as part of some type of witchcraft game--and the stories are the short films. They've put it together in a way that works well, but by no means is this an original idea--I've seen it done several times. Good production values throughout and overall entertaining. worth a watch

Just soo bad

Oh boy. This is the worst movie I have ever rented on Amazon. It is just so bad. The acting... the jumanji premise for people that want to sleep. I honestly don't think I can get through it. It's like eating a horrible meal you paid money for, so you try and try and just can't do it. Yes, it's that bad. You've been warned.
