Christian Saunders, who writes fiction as C.M. Saunders, began writing in 1997, his early fiction appearing in several small-press titles and anthologies. His first book, Into the Dragon's Lair - A Supernatural History of Wales was published in 2003. After graduating with a degree in journalism from Southampton Solent university he worked extensively in the freelance market, contributing to numerous international publications including Fortean Times, Chat, Its Fate! Bizarre, Urban Ink, Enigma, Record Collector, Nuts and Maxim, and a regular column to the Western Mail newspaper. He has also held desk jobs at several newsstand magazines including Nuts, Forever Sports and Coach.
Since returning to dark fiction he has had stories published in Screams of Terror, Shallow Graves, Dark Valentine, Fantastic Horror, Unbroken Waters, Gore magazine, The Literary Hatchet and others, as well as several anthologies. These works have been collected in his X series of short fiction, which currently stands at four volumes. His novellas Apartment 14F, Out of Time, Dead of Night, Devil's Island, No Man's Land: Horror in the Trenches and Human Waste are available now, as is his acclaimed historical novel Sker House. His latest release is Tethered, on Terror Tract Publishing.

I couldn’t wait to get this book. I have read the other three and loved the. With this one I was not disappointed. I am sad that this will be the last one though. I never heard of a drabble until I read volume 1. What I love about how Kevin J Kennedy puts these together, is you get so many sub horror genres in one book. Anything from creatures to plane psycho crazy killing. He states that when he picks these stories that he pics the ones that he enjoys. Well all I have to say is, thank you Mr Kennedy. You have great taste and I will always trust your judgement. So if you are a fan of drabbles or are just I. The mood for a quick fun horrific read check it out. Also check out the other three volumes they are equally fantastic.

One of the things I noticed when reading these anthologies is the placement of the stories. There is such a cohesiveness to the placement - which allows the reading process to flow evenly and with great ease. I’ve mentioned this before in one of my reviews for one of the other editions of this these anthologies, but for some reason this edition seemed to have been given even more attention to the order of the stories. The drabbles were as always brilliant, original and terrifying on many different levels. The array of talent contributing to the collection was once again stellar and included some of the finest Independent Authors out there. This is, as I’ve said of this or any anthology that has various authors, is a wonderful way to get to know authors that you may not have had an opportunity to read previously. It’s also a way to get a look at some work from authors you do know. Original, clever, sinister, eerie, spectral, shadowy, unearthly, incorporeal - just a few adjectives to describe the fantastic collection of stories found within the pages of this tome of masterful drabbles.

100 Word Horrors: Book 4 is another fantastic collection of horror drabbles brought to you by Kevin Kennedy and the last installment in the 100 Word Horrors series of collections.
If you missed the first three and don’t know what a drabble is, allow me to enlighten you. A drabble is a story of exactly 100 words, not including the title. Basically, it is very precise flash fiction. I was hooked on drabbles after the first edition of 100 Word Horrors. There is something amazing and sinister about an entire horror story being 100 words long.
As with 100 Word Horrors, 100 Word Horrors Part 2, and 100 Word Horrors Book 3, Book 4 is a diverse collection of stories from different horror subgenres. This means that you may not absolutely love every single one, but the book as a whole is a dark treasure of horror drabble indulgence. And I do love to indulge in drabbles.
As I did with Book 3, I will take a moment to mention a few of the drabbles from 100 Word Horrors: Book 4 that stood out to me.
“Swing Low” by Evans Light and “Zombie” by Jackk N. Killington, while nothing alike, are both flowing, sensory shorts of growing horror.
“Lanterns” by Simon Cluett is sick and twisted and fabulous.
“Louie’s Room” by C.M. Saunders is dark and wrenching and horrifying.
“Open Call” by Steve Stred is creative, so creative. It is dark humor at its finest.
“Misadventures of an Aggrieved Recluse” by Eric J. Guignard really spoke to me. Something wicked in me identifies with this story.
“Motivation” by Andrew Lennon makes me wonder what it says about me that it made me laugh out loud.
“Ride Hailing” by ryan Colley is the epitome of modern horror.
I also enjoyed many other drabbles from this excellent collection. Toneye Eyenot and Veronica Smith never disappoint, and Kevin Kennedy has his own fantastic stories herein as well. This collection is an absolute must for flash fiction horror fans.

Most of these were fairly cool considering they're written by your average joe and submitted for inclusion but I have to say there are some drabbles that simply made no sense, lol. Overall, I'd get it again at the low price...it's definitely worth that and you're gonna chuckle & gasp at a lot of them.

So Fun To Read Loved This Book!

I enjoyed this so much! These little stories were a fast read and fun, I loved being able to open the book and take a few minutes to read a few stories and enter a new world. Quality stories in a few words - and if you like horror like I do, I was really impressed with the imagination, twists and even the disturbing stories that people were able to write in such few words - to leave an impression on you in 100 words, so cool!

What a fun book of horror! From the cover, all the way to the Editor's choice of stories gathered, Kevin Kennedy does it again. Collecting one hundred stories, one hundred words each. A variety of authors deliver monsters, demons, murderers situations that can only serve to scare the dickens out of you! There is sure to be a number five!

Mixed emotions about this book. Loved reading it. The quality of stories were just as good as the first in the series. I managed to get involved this time and get a drabble published my first published work. So I am proud of this. Sad that this is the final in the series, I love dropping into these drabbles when out and about or at work. Being transported somewhere different in 100 words, different tales. Scary, deep, sad, happy, a wide range of emotions stirred up from very short stories. As with Friday 13th part 4: Final chapter it wasnt really over and we got 6 more installments and spin offs and remakes. I wait with baited breath for the open submissions to book 5, Drabbles the return.
