When Lindsay clashes first with reporter Cindy Thomas and then with Assistant DA Yuki Castellano things become tense between the friends. On top of this Claire Washburn, medical examiner and member of the club, gets devastating news about her health. Who is doing the killings and what do the victims have in common? Will the ladies of the Murder Mystery group set aside their differences? You'll have to read the book to find out and let me warm you it's a page turner! Highly recommend!

I was looking forward to reading this, I'm a fan of the series, but was hugely disappointed. I found the book to be incredibly flat, with no pacing, no shaping of plot, no tension, suspense, just an endless chronicle of police work. And what's with the parents repeatedly leaving their beloved little daughter home alone in a big city apartment while they walk the dog? Characters as responsible and aware of safety issues as the two parent characters are would never do that. Not a major flaw, but detracted from believability for me and became just one more thing that took me out of the book.

It is always great to catch up with The Women's Murder Club. It reclaimed a conversation with old friends. I have read every one of their books. This book had many different things you going on, and I enjoyed it.

Yuki was conflicted about the young man she was prosecuting, but was able to help him in the end. Lindsey and Conklin helped with a big case. Cindy was amazing in getting the scoop to help solve that same big case. Claire had her own battle to fight, and hopefully won that battle.
As always I enjoyed this episode with the ladies.
Already looking forward to the next book.

With all the Patterson books coming out every year it is obvious he has very little hand in the books. The second name on the cover is the real writer. Maxine Paetro has done great with the Women's Murder Club keeping the characters interesting blending them nicely together with their jobs and personal lives. She keeps the plots exciting and real page turners. (wonder why she hasn't taken Andrew Gross's path and gone on her own. He has done great after leaving Patterson) After getting a couple of Patterson clinkers, I learned which co-writers to avoid and that Patterson doesn't guarantee a good read.

Although his Alex Cross Series is my favorite, the Women's Murder Club comes in a very close second. He has a way of telling a story that keeps you turning those pages. I loved these books when the series started but they're getting a bit predictable now and rather shallow. The characters seem to have less depth these days and it all gives the impression of books on a production line for profit rather than writing from the heart. I struggled to finish this and don't think I'll bother with the next one. It's a shame as JP was my favourite author for years but there are far better writers out there now. If you're bored writing novels retire, don't keep disappointing readers with formulaic rubbish and charging top dollar.

This book series started out so good and now I feel they are being written for the sake of putting out another book. This one and the one before it have been boring and predictable. Yes, it’s great to hear about the private life of the main characters, but the villains seem to give up to easily. There’s no reason for me to buy any more. I’m bored!

Great at making you turn the page

If you’ve reached number twenty in this series then you know what to expect. Once again Sgt Lindsay Boxer is at the centre of the story investigating an apparent vigilante group who are killing drug dealers across the country. At the same time her husband, Joe, is helping out an old friend who alleges his father was murdered by his physician - not the first time the man has done this according to Dave. Is it true or is the truth bound up with Dave’s complicated relationship with his dad?
The other members of the Women’s Murder Club feature in varying degrees. Cindy, the reporter, gets more time than she has recently whilst she fights to keep her place as the number one crime reporter in town and deal with a pushy new colleague.
This isn’t a complex plot, there are no great Ta-Da moments or unexpected twists, and only the briefest conscience-wrestling on whether it’s okay to shoot drug dealers. However what these authors are great at is keeping you turning the page and thinking ‘just one more chapter before I put it down’ - so for that reason - four stars.

I had a bit of a hiatus reading this series and came back to it because I missed Lindsay and Rich, my dynamic duo. Catching back up with them was like wrapping myself in a warm blanket. Soon we were all off on the chase. Bad guys getting taken out ! and Veterans going rogue ! no wonder they were being cheered on . As those who dealt in misery were taken out you had to find some level of sympathy with them. What a pity they found themselves on the wrong side of the law. Claire Lindsay's long term is having her own personal fight and Lindsay struggles to cope with the potential loss, but worry not as they do have miracles!! A nice welcome back to the murder club as I realise Cindy still annoys me and I'm still in love with Rich and Lindsay and Joe still make me go awe!!!!
