About the authors
Born in Greenwood, South Carolina, Will traces his love of science fiction and horror back to a childhood filled with Space: 1999 reruns, a worn-out copy of Dune, and Heavy Metal magazine. His work has appeared in Nature, Daily Science Fiction and Tales to Terrify. A good writing day often finds him at any of several favorite overlooks on the Blue Ridge Parkway deeply immersed in a new work of science fiction steeped in cosmic horror. Will currently lives with his wife and children in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley in an old farmhouse turned backwards to the road.
Jennifer Campbell-Hicks is a writer, journalist, wife, mother and lifelong fan of science fiction and fantasy. Her fiction has appeared in many magazines and anthologies. Visit her blog at jennifercampbellhicks.blogspot.com.
Kary English grew up in the snowy Midwest where she avoided siblings and frostbite by reading book after book in a warm corner behind a recliner chair. She blames her one and only high school detention on Douglas Adams, whose Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy caused her to laugh out loud while reading it behind her geometry textbook.
Today, Kary still spends most of her time with her head in the clouds and her nose in a book. To the great relief of her parents, she seems to be making a living at it. Her fiction includes several short stories, and a forthcoming fantasy saga about a little girl and an orange kitten.
Kary is a Writers of the Future winner whose fiction has appeared in Grantville Gazette's Universe Annex, Galaxy's Edge, Writers of the Future, Vol. 31, Undercurrents, and Daily Science Fiction. Her stories have been nominated for the Hugo and Campbell awards, and long-listed for the Bram Stoker Award.

Yorkshireman Philip Brian Hall is a graduate of Oxford University. A former diplomat and teacher, at one time or another he's stood for parliament, sung solos in amateur operettas, rowed at Henley Royal Regatta, completed a 40 mile cross-country walk in under 12 hours and ridden in over one hundred steeplechase horse races.
He's had short stories published in the USA and Canada as well as the UK and some of them are freely available on line.
Philip's novel, The Prophets of Baal, is available both in paperback and as an e-book. The exciting occult story is set in rural England, Jersey and the treacherous sea in between them.
Philip lives on a small farm in Scotland.

Julie Frost grew up an Army brat, traveling the globe. She thought she might settle down after she finished school, but then she married a pilot and moved six times in seven years. She's finally put down roots in Utah with her family--a herd of guinea pigs, two other humans, and a "kitten" who thinks she's a warrior princess--and a collection of anteaters and Oaxacan carvings, some of which intersect. She enjoys birding and nature photography, which also intersect. Utilizing her degree in biology, she writes werewolf fiction while completely ignoring the physics of a protagonist who triples in mass. She also writes other things, on occasion, as the fancy strikes her.
Her short fiction has appeared in Monster Hunter Files, Writers of the Future, The District of Wonders, StoryHack, Unlikely Story, Stupefying Stories, and too many anthologies to count. Her novels are published by WordFire Press and Ring of Fire Press. She whines about writing, a lot, at http://agilebrit.livejournal.com/
Rachelle Harp is a speculative fiction writer and a teacher, as well as an avid coffee drinker. She's a finalist in the Writers of the Future Contest, a Zebulon Contest Novel winner, and a Novel Rocket Launch Pad Novel Contest grand prize winner. For more on her writing, follow her on FB, Twitter, or at rachelleharp.com.
M. Elizabeth Ticknor is a genderfluid fantasy author who married a wookiee and is the mother of twin dragons. She and her family share a comfortable hobbit hole in Southeast Michigan. An avid reader of science fiction and fantasy, she also enjoys well-written horror. Her other interests include drawing, painting, and tabletop role-playing.

Rebecca Birch is a science fiction and fantasy writer based in Seattle, Washington. She’s a classically trained soprano, holds a deputy black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and enjoys spending time in the company of trees. Her fiction has appeared in markets including Nature, Cricket, and Flash Fiction Online.
Dustin Adams currently lives in New York (state, not city). His stories have appeared in the digital pages of Daily Science Fiction, and the pulp and ink pages of Plasma Frequency and ASIM. He's a multiple finalist in L. Ron Hubbard's Writers of the Future contest and has served as an editorial assistant for Every Day Fiction.

Third & Starlight is just that—a familiar yet sumptuous melting pot of unique speculative fiction flavors to entice all the literary senses.
In one of my favorite stories—and there are many—Jennifer Campbell-Hicks and Nick Tchan’s collaboration (Another blend!) fuses religion with artificial intelligence in a post-American future in “The Temptation of Father Francis.” The wild west-slanted personal assistant AI and the young ex-military priest in search of faith make a unique pair (yet another blend!) in this uncertain future, where food is scarce and oppression is rampant.
Magic and mayhem flavor other stories in this anthology, and another pleasing yarn, “Shattered Vessels,” by Kary English and Robert Finegold, deliver in a big way. Their tale is steeped in Jewish mysticism, combining elements of the Kabbalah and fantasy in a rich tapestry fraught with love and loss.
So stop salivating! Pick up a copy of Third & Starlight and commence on a journey that combines the familiar with the new into a most wondrous prism of spec fiction on the market today, written by a host of award-winning authors.
