its an indie film that goes nowhere slowly but, i like it!

its an indie film that goes nowhere slowly but, i like it! jason s. is a very versatile actor. he's not given as much credit as he should be given but, at least his credit is up there near the top. and besides, wes a and sophia c can't be wrong to cast him. i will watch this movie a few times as that is generally what you should, need to do when, while watching an indie flick. is there a point to this film?! no, not really except that, its a day or a week or a month in the life of a person who exists day to day. the absolute joy in, of this movie is the frenchie. lol. reminds me of an animal ralph cramden; better known to a boomer as jackie gleason and the famous character he played in the black and white era of tv.

Smooth entertainment for a Friday night. Not really a Saturday night movie.

Looking to see what other movies that dog has worked in. It's a mellow slow burn go nowhere coming of age romance deal.

A look at Jason Schwartzman's mediocre life
Verified purchase
Jason Schwartzman’s life is going nowhere. He works at an oil change shop, takes care of his grandmother Olympia Dukakis, has a dog and only has one friend Tunde Adebimpe. He can’t even make a move on the girl he likes. It’s a pitiful existence and that’s what the movie focuses upon. His days of drudgery. It actually gets worse by the end.

I like this film not only because of JS' super natural acting but also its ordinary, genuine and simple story. It's not a classic movie with a shocking/unexpected/happy end, crazy characters or unrealistic and exaggerated twists. Even though I watch and enjoy those too. This film tells us a lot about different types of relationships, human to human and human to animals from different angles. It also shows struggles, plans and longings that one may face in life. What makes this film so unique is its style: effortlessness. Recommended!

light hearted and fun awkwardness all around
Verified purchase
I really liked how genuine and strange and odd it felt. How people in general act and behave in smaller cities/suburbs. I appreciate how light hearted and well intentioned the characters acted or rather how they treated each other even in anger and frustration. Definitely recommend this movie its very endearing.

I'd like to see more like this

I've sorted quite a bit for films worth watching. I'd put this in the category of "charming" films where the characters struggle but do so with the intent of making the world a better place.

Dont watch. Should have been left on the cutting room floor.

This is the story of a boring time in a boring place where nothing of interest happens. I think there were jokes. They all missed. I have no clue why this is called '7 Chinese Brothers'; none.
Its scene after scene of disinterest.
