A look at Jason Schwartzman's mediocre life
Verified purchase
Jason Schwartzman’s life is going nowhere. He works at an oil change shop, takes care of his grandmother Olympia Dukakis, has a dog and only has one friend Tunde Adebimpe. He can’t even make a move on the girl he likes. It’s a pitiful existence and that’s what the movie focuses upon. His days of drudgery. It actually gets worse by the end.

I like this film not only because of JS' super natural acting but also its ordinary, genuine and simple story. It's not a classic movie with a shocking/unexpected/happy end, crazy characters or unrealistic and exaggerated twists. Even though I watch and enjoy those too. This film tells us a lot about different types of relationships, human to human and human to animals from different angles. It also shows struggles, plans and longings that one may face in life. What makes this film so unique is its style: effortlessness. Recommended!

Jason Schwartzmen is the indie Bill Murray
Verified purchase
This movie had its issues but overall I enjoyed the hell out of this movie and it's because of Jason Schwartzmen and his dog. The writing is nice too. I like the awkward conversations and how Schwartzmen's character jokes around. The last act was a little too ridiculous for my taste and the movie ended kind of out of nowhere but the movie is still worth a watch for Schwartzmen and his dog.

Quirky little film

Arrow the dog and Jason make this film worth watching. It is obvious that he is Jason's actual dog. The film itself doesn't actually go anywhere or end anywhere. I will still recommend it based on two facts. I love anything with Jason in it. I love his dog and his relationship with him is the best part of the film. Arrow is a star!

Arrow is a funny, adorable dog.who loves to lick Jason's face. A sweet boy, with a not so sweet grandmother, who knows how to chose friends. We thought it was a wonderful movie.

I don't remember what happened. Feels like a Bill Murray movie. You end in the same place as you start wondering how you got there.

light hearted and fun awkwardness all around

I really liked how genuine and strange and odd it felt. How people in general act and behave in smaller cities/suburbs. I appreciate how light hearted and well intentioned the characters acted or rather how they treated each other even in anger and frustration. Definitely recommend this movie its very endearing.
