The 7th Day Kindle Edition
Sybille and Michael are a happy couple, finally expecting their first baby. But then Michael disappears without a trace, and Sybille finds herself living a nightmare. When her husband is found, stabbed to death, there is only one suspect: Sybille. While listening to the witnesses´ testimonies during her murder trial, Sybille recollects her life with Michael. On the seventh day of the trial, Sibylle realizes the truth. But how can she ever prove it?
This clever mystery is set in both Berlin and at a secret place, a place so terribly secret that some readers recognized it anyway.

I wasn't expecting to be held or captivated in this novel as some of the older print novels I own dragged quite a bit. THE 7th DAY was by far very captivating. I lost track of time every time I opened it to read. I had to know if Bille actually took her husband's life . I couldn't believe it wend end like that and I am glad it didn't ...that would have been eh?
The mafia, a close friend and defender... a thriller at best. Definitely five stars. I would give more if I could. And the ending I won't spoil that was stupendous. My only question will Bille and Gabi ever be the same again? Will one ever forget the other in what happened. Am I vague ? Yes. You must read it to know what I'm talking about.
Gripping. Thrilling. Fast paced. Whodunnit. Action packed. These words all describe this book with five stars. I would actually reread this book and there aren't many I can say that about.
No proofreading errors did I come across. A reader can actually see themselves in the courtroom, in the flashbacks, in the chase.....etc. there is never a time where one has to backtrack in order to put themselves in the book. Every time you open you are brought in vivid detail back in the storyline.
I look forward to more books by Nika in the future. Thriller, action, and suspense fans will love this read.
The translation only confuses me in the end. SPOILER ALERT.....I think Bille and her girlfriend conspire to kill Ullie. Her girlfriend because he was in love with Bille and was going to leave his wife and Bille for revenge because he destroyed her life and everything that was important to her to cover up his crimes and then left her to take the fall even if he did try to mitigate his guilt by defending her. If I have that wrong tell me. It is a different kind of thriller telling the story of how far you can fall when you try to climb the summit and how little we know the people around us sometimes.
The story is told from the first person perspective of the main character (who can't remember committing the crime for which she is being tried) and from the perspective of the magazine to which she has sold her story. I thought I knew the main details behind the crime all along, but I was (happily!) proven wrong in the end.
This is a worthy read!

This book however, did not lose any and it seemed a seamless translation. The story is about Sibylle who is accused of murdering her husband though she has no recollection of doing so. It follows the 7 days of her murder trial as well as flash backs to her life with her husband and close friends.
I didn't expect it go how it did, and without giving away too much of a spoiler, I wasn't expecting what happened to happen.
It is a good crime, mystery novel that will keep you wanting to know more.
