I say that because I’m seeing a lot of people leaving reviews saying they’re upset they thought it was. It is not. It is horror. Straight up horror!

Giving is 3 stars for a good premise and that I did binge it in one sitting cause I couldn’t put it down. But I did have some issues with the writing. The anatomically incorrect descriptions of the vaginal region really through me for a loop. The epilogue felt a little like a let down, I understand where the author was going and respect the decision, I just personally feel it could have been handled a bit better.

Holy. Damn. First and foremost, don’t read this if you’re easily disturbed. this is not your typical romance novel. Do not expect it to be. It’s dark, it’s twisted, and it will leave you bothered but In all the best ways. I don’t have a trigger point, so I read this hoping to get triggered and I didn’t. Definitely not meant for someone with soft spots or a weak stomach. But there’s something so intriguing and I’d even go as far as to say inviting about this novel. We all try to put ourselves in a characters shoes to attempt to be in the story, but this won’t be one you want to put yourself in. The trauma bond of the storyline alone will make you feel things you’ve never experienced before. 12/10.

While some would have you believe that this is a dark romance it is not. It’s horror…maybe horror erotica (if that’s a thing).

This book is disgustingly disturbing, and also anatomically incorrect because the clitoris does not have a hole… it is the urethra that you are talking about during that one messed up sexually explicit scene 🤣. I say one because there were so many graphic scenes…. The eye socket oh my gosh it had my eye squinting the entire time I read it.

That being said, I did enjoy reading it, and it probably would’ve been four stars. If the clitoris/urethra thing did not drive me so batty.

Maybe I should flip that, but Enjoyably Shocking doesn’t quite have the same ring.

8 Days For Salvation feels like a script for AHS done RIGHT. Our Prologue and Epilogue are through the eyes of the “villain” showing how he came to possess and “save” our main character Faith/Iona. The story itself, however, is in her perspective as she is brutally tortured and handled over 8 days.

This is not a happy read.
There is no glorious ending.
But it was an hellish escape for a few hours of horrifying enjoyment.

I really don’t know what to say about this book, except that it is exceptionally depraved. I appreciate that. The horror starts on the first page and doesn’t let up at all. Through torture in captivity Grace manages to turn the tables on her assailant a unique way. This book is not for everybody and I’m surprised it was for me. I read the whole thing and may even talk about it with friends at some point.

Like the book is dark. This isn't a dark romance this is a horror book. Think American horror story think criminal minds. But the epilouge for sure changed my opinion of the book just in the aspect of how the situation started.
It was a good horror book. For sure don't go into this expecting a HEA.

I went in knowing nothing about this book, Yolanda you have made me speechless. The ending made it all better as it seems though there was a reason for it. I even felt squeamish and that's a first.
There were a few errors but there is no doubt that if you can read dark, twisted books then you'll be pulled in.
Please don't go in thinking this is a romance, it's not!
I'd definitely recommend it to some, but not to all. All in all I think I kind of enjoyed it but it's one of those books that you wonder if you should be happy with the recommendation or not.
So all in all, Yolanda I thank you for both having me glad I read it and also wishing I didn't.

I think this book suffered for being a short story. The ending felt rushed and left quite a lot of unanswered questions. It definitely needed a good editor as there were quite a lot of mistakes which distracted from the story.
Also I have to say that you CANNOT have intercourse with a clitoris, there is no hole. I assume it meant urethra but they are really not the same thing!

I actually don’t know what to write about this book. It’s certainly not one I’m used to and at times was a little out of my comfort zone. I mean the EYE!! The actual EYE!! If you read the book, you’ll understand what I’m on about but let me tell you, i think you’ll have the same reaction.

I can’t say that I enjoyed it. I think to enjoy it you’d really have to be a little into the mind frame of the characters - sadistic and depraved. And whilst I do enjoy a little depravity and darkness at times, I think this book pushed me to the limits of said depravity.

What I will say is that I read it til the end and it kept me enthralled. I marked it down one star just for the confusion of the story. I didn’t know where I was half the time. It was like it jumped to and fro. Maybe thats because of the whole captivity thing? I don’t know.

I will recommend though. It takes guts to write a story such as this and not receive a lot of backlash so praise to the author for this.

One thing I enjoy reading this author's books is the way the characters are bought to life. In 8 Days for Salvation, the story revolves around 2 characters Ione and Daniel. The descriptive details gives you no doubt about what is happening behind the four walls.
I do not want to say too much as it will give too much away, but this book will have you on the edge of your seat as you read what is going on. This book is dark and extremely twisted. This was a great read and if you like a darker read than pick this up, better still pick up everything that this author has written
