It wasn’t that long ago when you could make a simple phone call, answered almost immediately by a very nice young person who would make your appointment, or direct you to a person who would help you with just about any problem you might have.
Those days are gone. The sweet young voices have been replaced with robots. Some of them look like computers, others like assembly monsters who can work 24 hours a day without pay. In most instances they’re nowhere near as capable as those entry level customer service employees and assembly line workers who made the fatal mistake of requiring payment for their services.
This collection includes, a myriad of robot types, from internet security robots, to home assistants, and even electronic prostitutes.
As you might imagine, a robot is only as good as its programmer and because programmers are only people we hope our collection of stories will both warn and entertain you with the unexpected results that can happen when good intentions go bad.
Today when your computer asks, "Are you a robot," you can only answer no. What will the world be like, when you can answer "yes, yes I am."

About the authors
Rie Sheridan Rose multitasks. A lot. Her short stories appear in numerous anthologies, including Killing It Softly I and II, On Fire, and Hides the Dark Tower. She has authored twelve novels, six poetry chapbooks, and lyrics for dozens of songs. Most of her lyrics were written for Marc Gunn and can be found on "Don't Go Drinking with Hobbits," "Pirates vs. Dragons," and "As Long as I'm Flyin'" for the most part--with a few scattered exceptions.
Her favorite work to date is The Conn-Mann Chronicles Steampunk series with five books released so far: The Marvelous Mechanical Man, The Nearly Notorious Nun, and The Incredibly Irritating Irishman, The Fiercely Formidable Fugitive, and The Elderly Earl's Estate. Book Six, The Grieving Groom's Gambit, is in the queue, but other cool things are coming before that! (Like the first book in a spin-off series.) Keep up with the series on https://theconnmannchronicles.com/ or Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/TheConnMannChronicles/
