My Asus Zenbook had a screen malfunction after a couple of years. Since it was still within my protection period I filed a claim. They sent a box with a printed shipping label. It arrived after just a couple of days. The instructions were easy to follow to ship it back to them. I dropped it at a UPS drop on the 18th. I was told at the UPS drop that it would be picked up the next day by UPS. It was received by the 20th. I received regular updates via text and email to advise of the status of the repair. They did have to order a part which took them less than a week to receive. After receiving the part they determined my Zenbook was beyond repair and I received an amazon gift card for the purchase price of my Zenbook that day via email. This was the 29th. I always get a protection plan and have had to file claims with Geek Squad, & several manufacturers protection plans in the past and this was the easiest by a long shot! I will definitely use them again!

I purchased a refurbished MacBook in October 2019 and purchased a 4 year warranty (this product). In march 2020, the charger/adapter broke - so I search for this warranty information. i went to the website to start a claim, but the website throws errors "Something went wrong...". I then call the number, get a representative, who collects all the info and tells me to hold. After 20 minutes of music playing, another representative comes and talks to me like this is afresh call. Same thing, she collects all the info again from me and tells me to hold. After about 10 minutes - I hear back the main menu message - like I just dialed in. not sure how to get any assistance.

Hoping that this review may get their attention.

I have used Asurion a number of times with my Verizon cellphone, and service was great. However, when I purchased this on Amazon for my laptop, I got an order number but no information on my policy, how to file a claim, what the coverage was, etc. Both my laptop and the Addition policy were POSs.

This review is specifically for using Asurion coverage on a failed laptop computer. I've used Asurion on other failed electronics without any issues.

The good: at the end of the day, I did receive a credit (Amazon gift card) for the purchase price of the computer (not including tax). Also, this computer failed during the one-year manufacturer warranty. The manufacturer (Dell) was not going to cover it, but Asurion stepped in, coordinated with Dell, and covered it under their policy.

So, why the 3 star review? I started my claim on 8/10 and received my credit on 9/21. That length of time without a computer is an eternity. This includes at least a dozen calls and hours of my time on the phone with Asurion to keep the process moving, or it would have undoubtedly taken longer.
Also, you do not get tax back. I asked Asurion about this (their documentation states that you will be refunded the purchase price plus sales tax), and their response was "take that up with Amazon."

So, yes you are covered, but have a back-up plan in place so you can function without a computer for over a month.

I dropped my laptop and bent the corner where the ac outlet goes in. Easy to report. Sent a box. Texts don't really take you to any useful info. Came back within a week here is the issue. It came back bowing and bent in the center. Right above the keyboard. When you try and open it catches. Not very happy. Waiting on a new box.

I purchased my HP Laptop less than 1 year ago. I also purchased this protection plan. A few weeks ago, my computer screen started to "glitch" and reboot. It got worse to the point I couldn't turn my screen on. I wasn't able to back up any of my new data.

I filled the claim, they sent the box, I gave them the laptop, and they've been updating me with the status every few days. Nothing worked and they weren't going to be able to repair the laptop so they refunded my money.

Fine. Except now the 4 years of protection I bought is done after less than a year. They won't allow me any credit toward a new laptop protection plan. They also won't allow me to have my laptop back so we can pay someone qualified to retrieve my files! So in less than a year, I paid $400 to get my $900 laptop refunded, and will have to pay another $400 for a new protection plan? Because THEY say it can't be fixed?!

Asurion has a website that is malfunctioning, forms that are improperly formatted, and then they reject claims because info don't sync up. You will be passed from agent to agent on infinite hold, clearly because they hope you will give up on filing your claim. Do not waste you money.

I called because my new laptop was not working and they said that that Asurion don't cover software issues. In the description of the product offer this is what they say:
"EXPERT TECH HELP: Real experts available 24/7 to help with set-up, connectivity issues, troubleshooting and much more."
This what JuanCarlos said almost at the of the chat: "I am sorry to hear about the issue you are having with your laptop. I can only imagine the inconvenience this has caused you. Let me go ahead and submit the claim for you and check for the best option available."
They asked me so many questions only to tell me this at the end: "upon further review on the issue on the laptop. I do apologize but software issues are not covered by the protection plan."

What do I do when Asurion sends me direct to Dell for tech support and they tell me the unit sold to the Amazon seller did not contain a essential component. The Seller suggests I should not have used the Dell update process and I have a $1000 computer that does not work and ASURION does not respond or makes it so difficult to communicate. Just like AMAZON Customer Service - LOUSY!

You get an email saying what you have purchased. Up to Purchaser to keep track of what is covered and dates. I expected the extended warranty to be reflected in my surface product when checked online, it just shows the original MS warranty. I guess my expectations were wrong.
