Actually, I bought a new adding machine/calculator for a friend about to start bookkeeping classes. THough I have had these calculators for years without problem, very well built, this person has children which means anything in the household is subject to harsher treatment and might break and be in need of a plan so I bought this along with the calculator just in case. Like auto insurance, all you really know about is price until the need arises and then you find out whether the techs met or exceeded the stars given, or worse. Since this was a higher than average cost calculator my guess is my friend will never need tech support.

It would be nice to know what item is on the warranty receipt. When you have several of these and no item description it makes it almost impossible to know what item it is for 2 years later.

I never purchase warranties on computers or printers, but I did for this one just to try it out since it was only $8.00 (for 3 years). My Router started disconnecting WIFI intermittently
