I was excited to get the, however, figuring out how to install and use it’s supposedly amazing software is glitchy, difficult and exceedingly difficult to manage. The customer service is slow and provides only videos and written instructions that are impossibly difficult to see. I am relatively computer and tech literate and I bought this for my new M1 MacMini, but it continues to give me fits.

I recently had to improve the image quality of my webcam because my Logitech C920 wasn't cutting it anymore. So I figured I'd go with the new Logitech C922. I noticed no difference in image quality and I had trouble using it with OBS, which I have to use.
I tried the Razer Kio and Logitech Brio as well. I either wasn't impressed with the image quality or the software was a pain to get working. Weird autofocus issues, stuttering and such.
Then I saw this camera which had great reviews, but I had never heard of Avermedia? I decided to give it a try. It doesn't come with any software, so I was starting to think I wasted my money, but I saw I had to download CamEngine from their website. That updated the firmware. When I first set it up I couldn't find the software used for editing zoom, focus, etc. It was in the folder labeled Step 2. After that was installed CamEngine was on and WOW! It has great zoom without degradation. Smoothing to make me look better than I do. The image quality was a major step up! It is metal and works great! I'm very pleased with my purchase!

Not worth the money.

Awful image with tonnes of noise/grain. I reached out to Avermedia who blamed it on my lighting. I have returned as my old £20 webcam had less grain.
Half the options are greyed out, meaning you are limited to what you can actually change.
The review by Harris on youtube gives a completely false narrative on this product and I would avoid like the plague, not worth the money.

Is it as good as they say?
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 21, 2021
The Avermedia web cam is the new kid on the block. I have it on a small tripod in front of my screen, which means its at eye level when I use it. I also own the Logitech Brio and the C920 so am able to make a fair comparison. It stands up well to the others with a quality of picture second to non. Also the sound is a considerable improvement on what's gone before, although I still use an external sound card. It a massive webcam with a true glass lens (which is also huge by comparison to others). I like the fact that is comes with its own software which is always good, but there is a problem when trying to use it cross platform such as on Zoom, the zoom software is sluggish while using this avermedia, and I cannot work out how to use its own software while in zoom. If they could work out this glitch, this would be the perfect camera. It is expensive, so is it worth its cost? I think yes, I had the option of returning it if not satisfied.....I am keeping it!

Expensive, but good quality

After seeing the quality of the camera on a live stream i decided to go for it. I've bought several cheap webcams over the years and they never last. The first thing you notice about this camera is the weight and build qulaity. My graphics card isn't fully up to the power of delivering the 4K output, however at 1080p 30fps its great quality and very smooth. I also don't look like a ghost now, however the backgrounds on teams are a little bit jittery, this could be due to my graphics card/lighting.

Aver media force user login to access features
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 10, 2021
In version 3 you could use any feature you like. In 4 they blocked away ai/etc features behind a login.
Aver media pretty much connect to the internet any time it wants & does what it wants. Even without login. (I'm speaking about the new version 4)
Version 3 no longer works with new firmware as AI tracking/etc crash now.
I would say this was a good product before. But now it's a bad one. Avoid.
The camera also records 24/7 and you can't turn it off either in settings or by shutting down the blind.
It has a good sensor, but software and company practices are pretty bad. I would stay away and go with other brands.

Best webcam to buy !!!

I know this webcam is not cheap but offer really great picture quality but... Be sure You will provide decent lighting conditions, update software to latest and make few tweaks in a cam engine after all. Many people made a bad reviews before and myself was also very sceptical about quality of this webcam but after I met the requirements as I mention before all looks great for me.I use to have Logitech C920 and this camera is massive upgrade.Poor lighting will result that you will get horrible picture quality with a big graininess.Camera needed some work but after I’m very happy with picture quality.Lastly make sure camera is connected to usb 3.0 or higher.
