The wire indeed runs at 4K. BUT it will flicker at random like it has a loose connection. I checked several times to identify the problem, even used tape to make sure it was not loose. But no matter what I did it kept flickering.
This is likely due to it running at 50hz refresh rate at 4K and is causing conflicts with the drivers OR it is defective. I tried changing the refresh rate to 60 on my video card control panel and display section of windows to no effect. Then I tried another cheap and no brand Mini DP to DP wire and it works fine with my Wacom, so I would avoid this for Wacom or 4K products that require 60hz refresh rate. So I rate this 1 star for being useless especially at this HIGH price for a freaking wire.
Update: This wire seemed to be locked at 59hz, while the cheap wire I got to replace it is at 60hz as well as all my other displays that are 60hz.
There is still a chance the wire was just defective as other reviews seems to indicate they were fine at 60hz 4K. Either way my review will stand firm at 1 star. I sent it back for a full refund and I will avoid this brand in the future.

I was very frustrated purchasing a very expensive monitor capable in displaying true 4K resolution at 60p when I can only configure it in UHD resolution in 30p due to the flickering issues the monitor was having in the higher resolution, higher frequency modes. Reading in many online forums, users were blaming AMD for the issues, primarily around having driver issues. Other users were blaming the displayport cables, stating that the gauge (AWG) were too small or the plating wasn't the right conductive material. After trying 4 different displayport cables, all bought from Amazon and Newegg, I was about to replace my video card for a Nvidia-based card when I decided to look into the displayport spec itself. Little did I realize that there is an actual alliance / working group dedicated to maintaining the standard of displayport technology and requires manufacturers to certify their cables to prove compliance to the spec. It ends up being that all of the cables I've purchased, including those that were really thick, braided, gold plated, and fancy looking, weren't Displayport / VESA certified. None of them in fact were capable of sending 5.4 Gbps / 21.6 Gbps total of bandwidth down the wire (this is the key issue). When I opened the Accell B143B-007J package open, I had doubts about the performance of this cable because it was noodle thin -- ok slightly exaggerated -- but it was definitely much thinner than any of my previous cables. But after replacing my existing cable with this one, and setting my display adapter resolution to true 4K @ 60p, and working with the monitor for several hours, I was pleasantly surprised with the results -- no flickering, smooth transitioning, excellent gaming, the works. This is a fantastic cable, hands down, cheaper and more effective than my other cables. I can already tell the difference in the increase in resolution and especially the display rate. It is almost as obvious as seeing a 1080P TV in 30/60Hz and upgrading it to 120 Hz, which if you know what I'm talking about, is a game changing experience when viewing HD, high FPS content. Highly recommended and you should try this cable first before replacing your monitor or your video card for that matter. My lesson learned from this: cables do matter.
This cable will support resolutions up to 4k (I've tested it with a ASUS PB287Q 4K @ 60hz) as well as 3D video and total data transfer of up to 21.6GB/s and is VESA certified. I ordered the 3.3ft cable thinking it would be long enough, but with Apple having the Mini DP on the left side of the laptop it is a bit of a stretch to connect it. This cable has been hooked up for almost a year now and has given me no issues to date! If you computer goes into Sleep mode, this cable allows the monitor to wake up when your computer does as well which is convenient and something all cables don't do. There's no kind of flickering with this cable, and the text on the screen is crystal clear/easy to read and colors are very accurate and vibrant.
One thing I don't like about this cable is the quality of plastic on the Display port end. For whatever reason it seems cheaply made, and I am not a fan of the latch, but it has given me no problems so far and due to it sitting behind my monitor I never see it. In terms of overall quality, the cable is very thick and has held up great to some bending during moving. I took a picture of it next to my mouse's wire to give you an idea of the gauge of wire.
THOUGHTS: This cable is everything you want in a cable. It is slightly more expensive, but is has a proven track record, is high quality, and comes with a lifetime warranty.
RETURN PROCESS/CUSTOMER SERVICE:
A note on the warranty; at one point I thought the cable was failing on me and I started the RMA process. Customer service was immediate and very helpful. If you need to return the cable you are responsible for return shipping, but their support is top notch and easy to work with. Spend the extra few dollars on this cable and avoid the gamble of buying other cheaper cables!

The previous issues I had experienced were from a faulty monitor port and were unrelated to the cable. This cable is working well and sending a good signal as expected. I've updated the star rating accordingly.
Failed within 48 hours of use. No signal sent, tested on multiple systems.
Defo fit for purpose.
Will keep you informed
I have a Dell UltraSharp U2713HM wich is a great monitor, except for flickering when using DisplayPort....
I've tried different cables, always had a lot of flickering.
With this Accell cable the monitor works fine - no flickering... :)))
But of course, the cable is quite sort.
