She and her parents are captured, to be killed off in a accident, so the bad guy can get the ranch...one smart horse leads Blake to the rescue! This tale was fun to read, watching them come together, then explode, and repeat...but by the end two families are put back together, and the bad guys are put down! Enjoy!

A wonderful read! I have read the Dallas Series by Ms. Snow, and then began the Marriage Mistake Series. It was terrific to read Bella’s and Drake’s story. Her beautiful horse Edison is the best four legged hero!

The book begins with Bella’s Grandpa Reed’s death, and quickly Ms. Snow details Bella’s life up to this time. Rich parents, her Dad’s poor relationship with his father. Her Mom’s a nightmare, and Bella feels she was never loved or wanted by them, spending every Summer and extended holidays at her Grandfather’s ranch. Her grandfather was rancher, and oil man. He owned a large, successful oil company, he was generous benefactor for the town of Dallas. His wife died when Bella’s Dad was in high school. When her Dad left the ranch for College with her Mom, he never was able to reconcile with Grandpa Reed.

Drake, was Grandpa Reed’s “helper”. That’s how he was described, an old army buddy. Lived at the ranch for 4 years. In her mind she thought of an older gentleman, not the hunk of ex-Army sniper, with a very sad past.

Grandpa Reed left everything to Bella, the ranch, the oil company! Her mother Molly was aghast and angry beyond words. Her Dad silent as usual. The lawyer warned Bella that her Grandfather had concerns, and there was stipulation that she had to stay at the ranch and not sell anything for 6 months. She left the office, got into an argument with her parents. She drove to the ranch and saw her Edison. Later, she met Drake, and he tried to explain how he was there to help her and carry out the will.

Then their story begins, she finds out her Grandfather arranged a proxy marriage to Drake. There are wills, that state if she dies, then everything is left to her husband.

Drake’s story is sad and filled with regrets. He has lost family and feels responsible. Bella feels she never knew her parents or grandfather.

Enjoy the suspense, figure out who is truly the villains. As with all of Nicole’s novels there is a lot of hot sex, some that I skim over because the story is that good. I gave it 4 stars because I am tired of the “virgin” backstory for the heroine. Are these ex-military men, who are so experienced really need to mark their women? Especially virgins who seem so experienced? If the story is as wonderful as this one was did it need that detail? Not for me!

Thank you for Edison’s back story too. An amazing horse! Enjoy!

Bella's parents were money hungry, manipulative, controlling never encouraging or giving love. Maybe that's part of why she loved her grandfather so much. She got to stay with her grandfather summers and school breaks on his farm with his wonder horse Edison. When grandfather passed and the will was read her parents were livid when Bella received his oil company and the farm. They immediately tried to make her sell everything and give them the money. But grandpa was a wiley business man and had a plan in place. The major part of this plan involved Drake, the man who has been caring for him for the last four years.

As things unfold things are revealed about the family, the bad guys are brought to justice and most importantly Bella and Drake fall in love and have a happy ending.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story was good. I loved Bella and Drake, grew to tolerate the parents and everyone got in on the capture of the bad guys.

Love love love this book!!!! Surprisingly I read book 1 & didn’t read the rest… don’t know why. But this book is really good.
I love Drake & Bella!
Bella’s grandfather (from her dad side) died & left her with his business & the farm. At first they made us believe her parents were very careless specially her mom- who is controlling & money hungry & wants the money to herself. Drake is the “helper” grandpa’s right hand man- in the 4yrs that he has been there he was, Drake took care of grandpa til he passed away from a heart attack.
So he is dead & left the money to his granddaughter BUT he knew she would not be safe so he (Drake) tricked Bella into signing the marriage certificate that says she has been married for over a mth. Drake was there as a bodyguard, her protect her from everyone that might want to hurt her or take advantage of her. This story kept me glued to this book! Can’t wait til I read the rest of the books!

So loved this book what starts out for Bella as she learns she has just inherited everything her grandfather Jonah owned her mother is not pleased. Bella knows that an old army friend has been helping at the ranch when she arrives she gets a shock of a lifetime a tattooed muscle of a man comes out of the bathroom and scares her to death. Drake was expecting Bella but not the scream when she first sees him as he does scare her exiting the bathroom. Drake as well as looking after the ranch also took care of Jonah and promised he would look after Bella ensure she is safe also they are married by proxy which her grandfather did this also to protect her. Bella signs more paperwork at the ranch only later does she then know she is married to Drake. Their relationship at the beginning is strained with secrets coming out about the family and her marriage but starts to understand why her grandfather did it. Bella and Drake are attracted to each other even though they know they shouldn’t start anything it happens but Drake needs to keep watch for the dangers surrounding Bella. It all starts when they try is steal Edison Bella’s horse who is very clever and they have a special relationship. Her parents try and get her to sell the oil refinery her mother thinks she kknows what’s best this is why Jonah put stipulations in the will to keep her parents from getting or rail reading Bella into decisions she doesn’t want to make. Drake stays by her side through it all but has to act fast to save her after she is kidnapped as well as her parents. Drake has help from Edison who takes him to where she is being kept they save her but now they need to save Edison.

A great storyline. I read this story of Drake and Belle a few years back and didn’t realise I had it in my Kindle library. I have enjoyed reading it again. Its full of drama and romance. I love the horse Edison. Drake and Belle feature in other books all based in Dallas, the Knights of Dallas series and its reading them plus The Hero I need that I wanted to read this book again. Well worth the read.
