Sometimes in a series with a lot of tight characters with individual and group friendships it’s easy to pick out in advance who you think will end up together eventually… in spite of all their nonsense fighting. It was obvious that Archer and Elle would make up one of the couples as early as the first story, Sweet Little Lies, Love hate relationship much? Yeah, indeed. Elle is a strong woman who has built her life from scratch herself. Self-reliant, stubborn as a woman can get she has no need for a relationship or a man to define her place in this world. Yet Archer pushes buttons that she’s constantly discovering about herself. On one hand she wants him like crazy, on the other she’s… scared. But she’ll never admit to that. Archer saved her on one of the most awful nights of her life. And while he says there’s no payback necessary she’s always felt that there could be nothing between them simply because Archer is the billboard for the strong, silent type of man. She offered once, and when he refused well she was done. Trouble is, Elle didn’t understand why he refused and it’s taken a lot of years to finally really hear his answer. When her sister, Morgan, gets in touch again… bringing trouble with her again, Elle shuts her out and it will take one strong, silent and stubborn man to get her to open up to either her sister or the man who loves her.
I’m enjoying getting to know all of the cast of characters in this series a little bit better with each book. Accidentally on Purpose is full of sass and heat, tenderness and lust, friendship and that special something that happens between the right man and the right woman. I enjoyed every moment of my time in this world – and now I’m looking forward to seeing how Elle and Archer are as an established couple in the rest of the series. Yeah, those extra bits of the lives of all of these friends is what makes this series special to me. I’d recommend Accidentally on Purpose, or any story in this series to Romance readers who enjoy a solid story line, believable characters and those extra touches that make a story a community of friends. Because relationships are formed and the group dynamic changes because of this I would recommend reading this series in order for the best flow and enjoyment.
I own a Kindle edition of this novel.
The current book up for review is her newest release in the Heartbreaker Bay of San Francisco Saga, Accidentally on Purpose. It (finally) brings the fiery story of Elle and Archer. We've seen their bickering and sniping in the first two books in the series; you knew that once they got together it would be epic, but that there likely was a backstory between the two of them that no one else in their circle knew about. Shalvis doesn't let us down in this novel on either front; the backstory is sad but believable having had such strong character development beforehand on both sides, and the first time they actually get together is enough to require a cold drink after only because of the time of day it was (had the husbeast been home and the kidlets asleep, that would be another story!). The story brings a conclusion to the original trio of women, but we are left with an opening for more stories thanks to the men working with Archer as well as the (secret) owner and puppetmaster of the building, Spencer.
All in all, a great book to unwind with, and I cannot wait to see which person from the group of friends is up next. My hopes are on Spencer, but we'll see. 5 stars
Also, Shalvis has a new women's fiction title coming out in June, and a preview is in the Kindle version of AoP, and after reading it, I CANNOT WAIT! Word has it that she'll be at the next July signing at TTP, which happens to be the same signing I am going to this year (planned before knowing this, I swear!), so I am excited to get to see two of my favorite authors in the same place!

Elle is the buildings manager where Archer has his security office, she is always immaculately put together and tough due to her childhood upbringing. Archer is the man she loves but the tension that these too create is on the hot scale and Archer has a no touch rule where Elle is concerned as he feels that she feels she owes him something due to him losing his budding young career when he saved her when they were younger.
This story involves Elles sister coming back into her life and bringing danger with her, so that Elles knight in shining armour and a stapler have to come to the rescue and the undying attraction between them.
All the books in this series have Eddie in them - he is a homeless man that they all look after by providing food, drinks and clothes and he offers them advice- I love this character.
This book is about regrets, family, putting wrongs right, friends, attraction and love. I would definitely recommend this book to romance lovers out there.

Heartbreaker Bay # 3

I have a few favourite parts in this book that made my heart melt. It was SO GOOD! So far this whole series is awesome! I read that Ms. Shalvis will be writing Spence's story soon! I just can't wait!!!
