Ace of Hearts: A Mafia Romance: Vegas Underground Series, Book 3 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
"I hit the jackpot with this sexy page turner." (USA Today best-selling Author Vanessa Vale)
THE SWEET LITTLE SONGBIRD'S IN MY CAGE NOW.
She owes the Family money. Big money. And I'm the guy they sent to put the squeeze on her. So now she's playing at my casino. Strutting around on my stage in her tight little shorts. Killing me softly.
I promised she'll be treated with respect, so long as she does as she's told.
But I didn't count on her barging in my office and tempting me, begging for a taste of my authority.
I didn't count on her getting under my skin. And the last thing I want is to see her debt paid. Because then I'd have to set her free...

I can recommend this as a wonderful addition to the series!
Pepper was raised around music all her life and at sixteen is working concerts and supporting her parents and manager, giving them a life of luxury. Her father has his friend, Hugh, as her manager, but that doesn’t mean he has done a good job managing her, and it is his reckless behavior that has her in financial straits and owing nine-hundred thousand dollars to Junior Talcone.
Tony Brando has been with the Talcone family since he was fourteen years old. He grew up going to school with Nico. When Tony’s abusive father nearly kills his mother, Tony will step up and stop him, and the Talcone’s will protect him and then give him a job with the family. When Nico leaves Chicago and moves to Las Vegas to open Bellissimo, Tony will follow.
The plot will have Pepper to perform ten shows at Bellissimo to pay back the debt she owes the Talcone family—even if she isn’t the one who made the deal, Hugh did. When Tony realizes that she isn’t well, he intervenes, then decides that she must take a week off, no talking, to heal her vocal cords, and that doesn’t sit well with Hugh.
“The sweet little songbird’s in my cage now.”
Pepper is no shrinking violet, and she goes toe to toe, daring Tony, and he doesn’t back down, he meets and accepts her dare. The chemistry between them is full of angst, passion, and explosive sex. In reality, Tony is the first person to act as if they care about her and her health and well-being. Tony will give her downtime to heal, becomes her personal body-guard and escort, and he shows her sights around Vegas, including taking her to a concert that hits social media. Pepper finally takes a stand against Hugh and fires him, but he refuses to listen. I love her band members who have her back and none of them like Hugh either.
What happens when Junior Talcone shows up at the Bellissimo and questions Tony and acts like he would allow harm to come to Pepper? No matter how heavy Tony has been, he doesn’t hurt women, and that won’t change, especially with his feelings toward Pepper. When someone tries to hurt them, he isn’t sure if they are after him or her. When Pepper flees, who will watch out for her? Has he ruined his chances with Pepper by letting her see the ugly side of his life?
The story is a page-turner with a great cast of characters, plenty of interaction, with dominance and control by Tony and the submission of Pepper. The sex between them is an erotic dance of power exchange and includes punishments. What starts as control over Pepper to recoup a loan will include consensual sex. They will be tried by fire and tested between right and wrong, good and evil, and even though there will be a loss of faith, in the end, they will find their way back to each other and will have come through stronger than before. The story will have several tense moments, including attempted murder, rape, and memories of rape. It will take a strong man to see her fear and help heal the broken girl and set her free.
“Love has a curious habit of transforming the meanest men into something much more noble.”
I have to say when there two first meet, you can feel the loneliness each has. They fit together like a puzzle, perfection. Tony’s history of what happened when he was younger tugs at your heart. He loves his mother and cares deeply for any woman that is abused. You pretty much saw it in the first book. Pepper is being used by not only her so called manager Hugh but by her parents. At first, I pinned most on Hugh but her parents are also to blame. I feel like they all see her as a cash cow. This story goes deep and tugs at the heart. I love how Tony tried to not get involved with Pepper but was so drawn to her that he just couldn’t help it. The passion is off the charts with these two. I cried when certain events were revealed. I love this series. I look forward to “Joker’s Wild” when it comes out.
There is a sub story in this book I feel I need to warn the reader. If you have a history with sexual assault, that is a back story with the heroine. However, as I too have that in my history, I was pleased with how Ms. Rose wrote it. For me, it was hard but didn't trigger anything. I just feel the reader should be aware. Otherwise, great amazing love the story and will continue to read about Junior.

Because the story seemed to have a bit more to it than the earlier ones in the series I found it more enjoyable.
Pepper is a musician who finds herself indebted to the mob through the shady dealings of her manager. Tony is the enforcer who needs to ensure she repays her debt by singing for the casino.
Pepper and Tony try hard to resist each other but in the end they are singing the same tune!! 🎤🎶
I am so ready for Jokers Wild and Juniors story
Still a fast paced and enjoyable story with lots of action and some great sex scenes.
I can't wait to read Juniors story next
