LEGIT silk pillowcases!

I went down a bit of a rabbit hole looking for the most affordable real silk pillowcases on Amazon. I had previously ordered a two pack from another vendor claiming to be 19 momme silk but they failed the burn test. Realizing you get what you pay for I upped my budget. I ordered both these and the 19 momme cases from Alaska Bear. The Alaska Bear ones were nice, but very thin. You can feel the difference with these. They have more weight to them. Reminded me of what an evening dress would be made out of. But what really sold me was the burn test. I pulled some loose silk strands from the seam. You can see the strands are hairlike. Burning the strands gave the faint smell of burnt hair. Furthermore the ash fully disintegrated. The two pack I had initially purchased from the other vendor burned to a plastic thing. I never tested the Alaska Bear ones as I preferred the feel of these. So I’m fully confident in the quality of these pillowcases. My hair has almost zero frizz when I get up in the morning. They stay cool to the touch and just feel luxurious. I went all out and opted for the queen size. My pillows are only standard size. But I’d prefer there be a bit of slack to the case to prevent any stress in the zipper, seams when you’re tossing in your sleep. A bit of a hit to the wallet, yes. But if you can afford it, go for it. Life’s short. Treat yourself!

To my fellow curlies - you get what you pay for

I do believe this is real silk, however I suspect it is low quality. Compared to my mulberry silk scarf, it is really not soft. Running my hand over it feels a bit rough, and not very "silky." I'm a little suspicious as well since the inside of the pillowcase is not shiny like the outside. It's definitely not a satin weave, so I believe it was treated with something to make the outside seem smoother and shinier than it really is.

I have curly hair that is prone to frizz. I slept on this last night and upon feeling the friction against my skin, immediately knew it wasn't going to work out well. First thing in the morning, I looked in the mirror and the frizz was more comparable to a normal cotton pillowcase. So I put my satin pillowcase back on, which I prefer due to its shine and slip - something us curlies are really looking for in a fabric.

Unfortunately if this was as high quality silk as the seller leads on, it would cost 2-3 times as much as it does. It's one of those things you can't work around when it comes to quality. I would call this more of an "off brand" version of good silk. And since my satin pillowcase works like a charm, I'll just stick with that.

Beautiful Silk Pillowcases!

This brand of silk pillowcases are totally exquisite and luxurious. The value for 23 mommes in a queen size case is very competitive and makes Adubor a good choice both in price and in quality. The colors are wonderful (I got pink and grey blue) and match my sheet sets perfectly.

My husband who is not a luxury lover seeker, tried out the pillowcase and gave it a thumbs up. Clearly, he enjoys luxury. This means I now have to buy many more cases so his pillows will be covered in silk as well as mine. I had been using satin cases for years and silk blows them out of the park.

Pair the silk pillow cases with a silk eye mask (which he now also uses) and you will never want to leave your bed. [I wish Adubor made eye masks too as I had to buy a different brand. It would be nice to have matching colors of eye masks to pillow cases].

Nice quality pillowcases

I’m pretty happy with the pillowcases. They are a bit thicker than the last set I bought from a different vendor, washed well, dried fast. But now that I’m looking back at the color choices, I didn’t get pink, I got rouge pink. I’m a little bummed, because the pink would have matched my bedding almost perfectly. I’m sure the color would have worked because the little sample they enclosed for the proof (to burn) was actually pink.
Oh well, the color blends and it’s not a big enough problem to make me want to pack them back up for an exchange.

I thought all the hoopla about these silk pillowcases was simply advertising but they are everything positive that has been written! They are so soft and comfortable! After 3 weeks I can actually see a difference in my skin and hair! It's weird to say I love a pillowcase, but I do! The quality is excellent and they launder beautifully (in a lingerie bag). Try these pillowcases - you won't regret it!

I purchased this for a king size pillow. It doesn't fit a kings size. It will zip closed but it does cram it in there. My pillow is older so it ends up working for me as it gives it back the right fluff. If it was a new pillow I am not sure you would be able to get it in there. It has held up very well in the washer/dryer. I know they advise against using the dryer.
