I had hoped that my original review of the 1st would change for the sequel, maybe I'd be less critical lol. Nope... This time, the family faces more dangers and my original opinions still stand, except stronger now with these new dangers.

They're supposed to be more used to living there. But it's winter which brings its own dangers. The mother gets deathly ill, the kids have to deal with dangerous situations without their parents' help, this time the big bad animals is a pack of wolves, and again, the poor dog keeps having to save them. Don't get me wrong, I adore the dog, but my gosh the dog should catch a break! He's in constant alert and anxious state, and endangering himself for their sake when he's kinda less equipped in that setting than a wolf for instance. The dog should get to be a dog, swim in the river, chase some rabbits, play in the snow....

I watched this movie for the first time when I was a young adult - maybe 18 or 19 years old - and I loved it. I have watched it a couple of times since then, and enjoyed it. I watched it tonight as a 61 year old woman with a lot more experience with winter in the northern states - no experience in the Rocky Mountains - simply winter in a northern state, and I found it to be very idealistic and also unrealistic. There is no way this family would have survived a winter in the Rocky Mountains. Sorry to burst your bubble, but there it is.

Oh my! This one was painful. The first movie was so much better. We couldn’t watch this one for more than 25 minutes. Kept hoping it would get better. And what with the daughter being replaced by someone who looks 5 years older than the original actor?

I had stumbled upon part 1 of The Wilderness Family while looking for a movie that wasn't totally warped up in sex and violence. Loved this movie so much, was thrilled to find Part 2.

Like the first one this is a really good family movie. It is too bad that there are not more family movies like this one anymore. This family had to work together to survive. They became good friends with many of the animals but they also had problems with a few of the animals. It is really sad that there are only three of these movies. I wish there were many more and many more movies that a family could sit down watch and enjoy, most of the stuff on television now days is just pure garbage.

Good sequel to the first, though I wish they would have kept the same actor for Jenny. The new actor did a great job, just would have been nice to keep the same family. This one moves a little slower than the first and has a few less animal encounters and action scenes but is filmed in the winter so it's fun to see the snow scenes. Kids LOVE the first one and like this one. I'm with them :).

Fun movie for the whole family - if a little predictable, the gorgeous scenery makes it well worthwhile. I grew up watching these films and still enjoy them. When I was small, the wildlife and mountains thrilled me; now as an adult mom, I must admit watching Robert Logan holds a bit more than a passing interest!
