(Me) throw before it got stuck in a tree. I've mastered the tree situation, but the wind takes control of 50% of a throw. The distance is spectacular with the wind, but if you throw in to the wind, it is basically a boomerang. The material is very strong but light and overall it's pretty good, a quality product. Update time, people. I played with it even more, and it is great. When my friend and I were tossing it around, it hit a tree at a flaming speed. I thought it would break, but it's too tough for that. The crazy thing is, it flies nice and easy toward you, then it does a weird maneuver. I could talk forever, but I'll sum it up in 1 sentence: Really fast, far, throws, extremely durable, yet unbelievably light, easy to throw, and fun. I am happy about the purchase. ☺☻
A boy at cub scouts had one of these that everyone was playing with last week. My son decided to spend his hard earned allowance money on Amazon to order one, hoping it wouldn't be pink. :) He was thrilled when a yellow ring arrived. It has a VERY rice, silicone-like, soft rubbery grip and is fun to throw! Kids fight over these rings so I'm thinking of ordering several for birthday gifts and cousin Christmas gifts. You can't beat a gift for under ten that kids actually want to play outside with!
Consider spending a little more and buying the 13 inch ring. It flies farther and better than the 10 inch rings did. However, if you don't have a wide open play space, the 10 inch rings might be better because they play more like a Frisbee and don't get hung up in trees quite as easily.
UPDATE: I am now buying our THIRD ring! These make awesome gifts for boys in the 8 to 11 range, as my son is frequently swarmed by boys wanting to play with his. But be aware that if you throw it too far and loose sight of it, you won't get it back. It will be stolen by the first kid who comes across it. We had this happen at a party where the ring ended up sailing over a house and landing far behind it in an empty field right at dark. It was snatched before daylight. Hence me having to buy our third. (Since it was probably the roving neighborhood teenagers who picked it up late that night, I am going to say this is a good toy for fussy 16 and 17 year-olds, too!) It has been a favorite gift at birthday parties, followed by thank yous from the moms who are grateful for any toy that gets their video game addicted boys outside. I am thrilled to have found such a good gift for under $10. You can't go wrong with this ring!
Update March 2017: I have now ordered nearly 10 of these rings in the last 5 months for birthday gifts for 9 and 10 year old boys and without fail, it has been an instant hit. The boys are always eager to show how FAR they can throw the ring and then are shocked when it sails two hundred yards or more. They puff out their chests as their friends exclaim "WOOOAH!" while the ring whizzes one or two streets over and then the birthday boy swaggers off to fetch the ring with every other boy tagging along, begging for a turn to throw it next. Children now double check with my son to ensure that he's going to get them an Aerobie ring for their birthday. I keep at least one on-hand for last minute birthday party invites.

Out of all the rings we have ordered, only 1 has been pink. We have received 2 orange, 1 pink and all the rest have been yellow. Trying to get a big pink ring for a girl's birthday party coming up in May is proving challenging since we keep getting shipped yellow!
Other than feeling ripped off, I'm mildly satisfied with the disc. I wanted to play catch in the back yard, and that just isn't feasible, because you need an empty field at least as big as a football field to be able to play catch with this disc. It just SAILS.
(Why YES, I CAN use CAPS to show emphasis whenever I want.)

Be warned. Trees should remain at least 200m away. I've spent more time trying to get it unhooked from branches than I have actually throwing it. Thats probably half the fun right? Sometimes it's just easier to by another one.
Only one ring I'm afraid - I buy a lot of things from Amazon and draw attention to dishonest practice.
As a flying toy these are fantastic, but they do come with a very real warning, and if you don't watch where and how hard your throw it, you will find yourself with a very long walk to collect it. I've managed to throw this over 200m with seemingly little effort. At that distance my dog just gave up chasing it. Get it right and it's great fun - who needs the dog?
They are great for really exercising an energetic dog (as long as she will chase it) but I found mine responded better to throwing this along the ground like a wheel. It will go for 150m with little effort depending on the angle you start it off at - and the wind speed/direction. I have managed to get it to roll, at an angle and leaning slightly into the wind (like a sail), for well over 250m before it stopped. If you increase the angle you can get it to do a huge spiral around you which will send your dog into mad loops chasing it.
Are these meant for kids, adults or dogs? Who cares: everyone will love it.
The only problem is that the edges can get damaged quite easily, especially around dogs, so either buy several at once so you aren't left without your new favourite toy, or keep it away from a chewing dog.
It is not so good to the city, because you need big space to throw with it and it is really easy to throw it ... anywhere.
But you can throw it also on the tree, so it is more about skills and big playground what you need.
The flying ring is really cool, it is not so much about doing tricks, but about long distances.
Something to bear in mind. I'm left handed and therefore when I throw an Aerobie it spins in the opposite direction. The tuning guidelines (twist up/down) to get a good straight flight need to be reversed.
Not dog proof and does not float (we lost 2 this way).
Super impressed with the ease of throwing, I had my whole family throwing it back and forth, previously they had all failed to be impressed and very quickly lost interest, however, Aerobie park days with my son are scheduled on a regular basis now.
Highly recommend, a great activity that is not only enjoyable, but also a good workout. The aerobie lets you enjoyably burn calories with the rest of your family and friends.
The really great thing about the Aerobie is that it fly's well even in fairly gusty conditions where a normal Frisbee would be unusable! The even better thing is that even an amateur throwing the Aerobie is made to look like a seasoned pro, effortless and very forgiving, no need to get the expert wrist flick and prefectly angled throw any longer, just launch it and you will be looking like a pro!
Next thing I know I see this pop up as it was on offer so decided to give it a good based on just the description and amount of good reviews alone. I rarely do this and usually do a little research or watch some video reviews first, but something with a rating like this I just trusted.
OMG! it exceeded my expectations. I've never seen a flying ring in person go so far. Conveniently enough I actually used it in the same park as I was using the old one and this thing went the FULL width of the park after a bit of practise. It's is great exercise as you'll have to run really far to collect it if it doesn't come straight to you. So be warned, watch out for any tree within a mile radius of the throwing zone.
Very happy purchase and is being kept in the boot of my car for when required
The main problem is the weight of this frisbee. If it hits the ground at the wrong angle it can put too much pressure on the spine and can easily cause it to damage.
I have since bought the 10 inch version again and can highly recommend it as it has almost the same performance (to be honest I think it is better) and is much more robust.
I would only recommend this product if you are an expert and throw a frisbee perfectly every time
