5.0 out of 5 starsWell done
I've enjoyed the (very) early Carl Hamilton series, even the slower ones. :) This one proceeds at a more ricky-tick pace with fine plotting, casting, and acting.

However, I find meaningless camera shaking simultaneously intrusive, unnecessary, affected, and expressive of a meaningless hipster cinematographer trend, and there's too much of it in episodes 5 and 6 particularly so far, also a poor mix of wide, medium, and close shots, especially when too much attention is paid to the misguided female Sapo officer who's emotionally obsessed with proving Hamilton the villain - way too many shaky medium and close shots of her, shot from a low angle as if to make her important, when she isn't; she's a weak plot element, seeming merely a distraction inserted to fill time.

5.0 out of 5 starsFine-tuned fast paced story with a bad guy twist
For me, it was clear this written during our scary Trump era so its 'bad guy' isn't offensive, but refreshing. That out of the way, casting for one female character was puzzling, and the 'women are the new men theme' is still growing strong, but all else was stellar. It ends with another 'mission' arriving, with a tiny hint of a smile on our guy, and I can't wait. Its lead is ideal as the 'new' Hamilton. Fits like a kid-leather glove for him, and he, by all appearances, enjoys the role. Fun to see our "Wallander" guy show up doing his sutle job well.

5.0 out of 5 starsExcellent series
Another excellent TV series from Sweden. The plot is engrossingly complex, the pacing relentlessly electrifying. One may find the characters a bit cliché, but that's typical of even the best spy novels or films. One may find the political stance to be anti-American, but that only holds true if you think that one renegade CIA operative and one greedy cyber-capitalist are representative of all Americans. I don't, so I wasn't particularly offended by the negative treatment of the two American baddies.

And they're so deliciously bad.

1.0 out of 5 starsdistasteful political agenda
I greatly enjoyed the previous Hamilton series and looked forward to this one. The heavy handed, PC, left wing, anti-American agenda was so quickly evident as to make it unwatchable. The actor playing Hamilton compares poorly to his predecessors in the role. The plot lines are hackneyed. Scandi-noir should not be Scandi-boring. Don't waste your time.
