About Alan Sullivan
Alan Sullivan holds certifications in the fields of psychology and peak performance awarded by leading universities. Alan is a Certified Master Coach, and a Member of the Chartered Management Institute.
Alan's prior practical experience included over 30 years in project management, change management and coaching backed up by masters degrees in project management and business administration as well as an honors degree in engineering. During the last 20 years, Alan worked as an international consultant, primarily involved in re-organizing, and sometimes establishing, effective public sector infrastructure agencies in developing countries. He has both written, and edited, numerous reports for the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Commission and other agencies.
During the last decade, Alan turned his attention to writing as a hobby, starting with an editing role on behalf of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Jakarta Local Association. This involved preparing 2-page articles for UP.DATE, a periodical magazine of the British Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, (BritCham). Alan also self-penned several articles covering topics such as strategic planning, infrastructure management, coaching and change management. He has published some twenty articles as a Contributor to Thrive Global and published six books in the 'Peak Performance' series covering performance, well-being and resilience.
Alan continues to be a student of peak performance and personal transformation, and is poised to study an MSc degree in psychology. He keeps up to date with the latest research in personal development, performance, neuroscience, NLP, hypnosis, spirituality and well-being. Indeed, his top signature strength is 'love of learning,' and he is an INTJ.
Alan has visited over 40 countries and has carried out consulting assignments in 20 of these. Among other things, he enjoys nature, cafes, reading, writing, travel, learning and growth. He has three children Emma, Oliver and James.
While based in Europe, during the last twenty years, Alan has lived substantially in South East Asia, mainly in Jakarta, Indonesia and in Thailand apart from an assignment in India and a few forays into Africa.
