Lousy acting and story

I wouldn't even give it 1 star but wanted to make sure this got submitted. I turned it off after 30 minutes. Don't waste your time or money. There is nothing good to say about this completely lame farce of a Sci-Fi attempt. I wish I could get my money back.

Total junk not even worth of a review, except if to save others from making my mistake and renting this "film".

Feels like Burbank community theater's screen production on War of the Worlds, but no one involved has ever read the book or seen any of the movies. Acting is ridiculously awful. Dialog is stupid. Bizarre camera angles in all the outdoor shots, no doubt to avoid getting the drive-through line of the Jack in the Box parking lot they filmed in. The lame CGI ships and aliens in the trailer are the entirety of what's in the movie. That's all the budget they had for the producer's nephew to come up with.

A complete amateur endeavor that's even at the bottom by amateur standards. Steer clear of this turd.

Holy god no - I got tricked.

Spoiler alert…

If I had known that I’d be locked into a science bunker with three terrible terrible actors and a sickly looking Tom Sizemore spouting terrible terrible dialogue I wouldn’t have rented it. At best it’s like a movie From 1986 that only played on the USA network at 3 AM. Right out of the gate you begin to pray that the male scientist only has a tiny tiny part… Maybe five minutes and then his brain gets eaten by an alien. But nope - he just keeps on talking. His delivery is over the top fake and I can only imagine he has a mental disorder or is on intense amphetamines during the filming. When Tom Sizemore enters the scene you think he’s been infected with an alien virus because he looks terrible and is sweating like crazy… But nope that’s just how he looks now. The soldier he was with sounded like he was reading his lines with a first grade reading level. The idea of the plot has been done before, but still interesting nonetheless. However… The dialogue, the pacing, the acting… Dreadful. If this movie was never seen again the world will be better for it.

This had to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Overacted characters, terrible graphics, and just plain bad. I’m not a movie critic but I’m ashamed to say I watched the whole thing.

Can I get reimbursed for wasting my time please?

Script is terrible

Not worth the rent. if you are just into visual effects then no issue. The script is terrible along with the timing of the sequence. The story lags and does not build up to a climax. No suspense and for sure I have viewed better low-budget films. Not worth the rental

Awesome movie

Judging from the reviews I guess people don't get the kind of movies the Asylum makes. These are the guys that made "Sharknado*. So they're not out to win awards. They're the B movie kings and this move doesn't disappoint for what it is. The cgi has improved tremendously and the story is a cross of War of the World's and Independence Day only not as pretencious.

It's hard to decide which was worse - the script, actors, or CGI.

Maybe I'm just chicken, but if an alien spacecraft landed in front of me I wouldn't be around long enough to see the alien emerge because I'd have left a puff of smoke behind as I ran for my life as though I were in a Bugs Bunny cartoon.
The antagonist teen guy tries to rape his girlfriend in the bathroom and not only does she not flush him down the toilet to be with his own kind, she gets back into the car with him and doesn't say a WORD about what he did?? And then there's the car accident - the force of the crash is enough to send the obnoxious goon through the windshield, but he doesn't get a scratch on his face? Seriously?

The duckbill meets the joker plastic surgery that every actress over the age of 12 gets done became tedious five minutes after the trend started and has become, in the words of Daffy Duck: "DESCHPICKABLE"! Rather than spend money on plastic surgery, everyone in the cast should put that money towards acting lessons!
With the number of extreme closeups in this movie, Tom Sizemore should have demanded that the meth sores & scars on his face be paid and given at least a costarring credit - and there should have been a 'meth head to English' interpreter on the bottom of the screen to decipher what the poor guy was slurring in every scene he was in!

🙄 I could do better graphics with pencil and paper.

A good old fashioned sci-fi flick
Verified purchase
Once upon a time, we had matinees with cheesy double features. Now, we The Asylum; a production house turning out low-budget flicks on mirco-budgets. Their movies are not good in the traditional sense, but they will give you about an hour and half of action and adventure.
Alien Conquest delivers. While lacking the goofiness of a Sharknado or Gatoriod, or the clear send up of the newest tent pole feature (see: Atlantic Rim (or see the new MST3K version)), it comes with a solid story, excellent pace, and better acting than expected. Its an hour and a half not wasted on a traditional, War of the Worlds-esque story.
Extra props to Emily Killian, who was able to spit out piles of pseudo-science in a fairly believable way. Its a feat and a skill not to be discounted in sci-fi media!
