ALL OF ME is a standalone read with a happy ever after. It is a second chance romance. Now this version is a bit spicy so if that is an issue for you then read A SWEET REUNION by Maria Michaels. Imagine my surprise when one night ago I read A SWEET REUNION. I really liked it. Then today I was all set to read ALL OF ME when it was exactly the same story word for word. I was so surprised and wondered if someone was snitching someone else;s work. Then after checking it all out I discovered one version is sweet and one version is a bit more spicy.

Still it is a really good story and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't read this version just to get to the sexy parts but the story is a second chance romance. Teenage lovers right through college. Then he enters med school. He wants to be a doctor more than anything. It is hard, studying until all hours, interning in hospitals for very little pay, long hours and no sleep. The stress has a lot of students dropping out at this stage. He is determined to be a doctor. His parents struggled to get through all the schools and he is wants to make them proud.

Ivey is the ever faithful girlfriend. She discovers she is pregnant but before she can tell Jeff he tells her he needs a break all the responsibility and pull on his time and energy has him at his wits end. He just feels like he needs something to give. Ivey hears him saying he wants to break up with her. She knows if she tells him about the baby he will marry her but he has indicated he is just not ready to add that to his already stressed load. She is crushed but she loves him enough that she wants him to finish school and become a doctor. Her aunt pays for her to go to L.A. and have the baby. She plans to do that and she will keep the baby and raise it herself. Somewhere after he is a doctor she will tell him about the baby and he can decide if he wants to be in his/her life. so she leaves town. Well, I just realized I am telling too much of the story. So, I am going to stop and just say this. I definitely recommend a very good read. Lovely love story and great characters.

Not Speaking Up Caused a Lot of Pain

This is a sweet read of a couple in love breaking up because of not communicating. Each had their reasons but each of them brought about a lot of pain for themselves. And the thing is, it’s easy to understand why they both kept quiet and didn’t ‘confess’ what happened to them.

If you want to sit back and relax, this is a good afternoon read or can be a good bedtime story. You might find yourself siding with both main characters, Jeff and Ivey. Their reasons are credible, but if only one of them had spoken up, they would have missed a lot of pain.

The book is listed as a RomCom but I didn’t see it that way. Yes, I giggled a couple times but it just didn’t seem like a romantic comedy. That doesn’t mean I didn’t like it. I did. But what was meant to be funny didn’t come across that way. Actually, those small town residents were more petty than funny. Pink and Blue Ribbons to show which side you’re on? Leaving a woman stranded on the roadside because you are a blue ribbon supporter, and she was a pink? Don’t think so.

This was a sweet story. Very clean romance. Ivey returns home to take care of a injured relative. Is a midwife and trying to get a job at women's medical center. Old school doctor say no but new school says yes so a subcommittee is created. She and other person must decide and make recommendations to board. Other member, her ex Jeff, an er resident. Subcommittee is a ruse created by the injured family member to get the two back together. They try to be friends only but that doesn't last, they become more. Truths about past come out. The town did a ribbon thing last time they were apart blue and pink, they do it again. Best scene is who has the biggest pink ribbon. A sweet, clean story. Quick and enjoyable read

I got it because it was listed as a romantic comedy. The only thing I recall that might have been even slightly funny was the Swiss Miss incident & him reading the Oil of Olay ad to the two year old. Maybe I have lost my sense of humor but I don't remember even chuckling once even at those. It was a good light read. It would work well to relax with on the weekend or on vacation.

This book started out with a predictable plot. Or so I thought. Bell wrote what I would have written then there's the bib BUT Ivey and Jeff were anything but predictable. They met when Ivey was 16, they both knew they loved one another from the begining. Ivey finds herself pregnet when Jeff is in medical school. Jeff was feeling like he wanted some time to himself and Ivey does not tell him. Instead she makes up a boy friend met on line and went to California. Five years later she went back home to care for her Aunt with a broken leg. While there she finds that the Hospital was opening a women's center and hiring Midwife nurses,which Ivey was hired for, because the hospital wanted to know if the doctors and midwives would work well together Ivey and Jeff (who was a first year resident at this time) were put on a committee to convince the hospital board midwives were a good idea. well they discovered that they still loved one another. And that my friends is all I am going to say about this book, except to say, I cried, I laughed and part two is in my reader now. "All of Me" turned out to be a great book. I liked it and have gotten the 2 other books in the series, and will leave a review of them also. Its a book worth reading and you will cry and laugh at that. So read it you will like it.

I wanted to take both Ivey and Jeff, hug them tight, and promise that nothing would ever hurt them again. I realize how terribly unrealistic that promise is, but it’s still what I was feeling for most of this book. Normally, a secret baby is a theme that’s difficult for me to believe in. Yet this story gave me the right elements for me to be swept in their drama and to believe. I loved the crazy, quirky townsfolk and now I want to dive into the rest of the series.

3.5 I choose this book mainly because of the Home Birth plot and I really wanted to learn more about it, how the process works, and whether Ivey, one of the main characters in the story,would be able to maybe "change the system" and win out over the doctor's opinions. I think that part of the story could have been developed far more to make the story more than just a sweet, typical love story with a bedroom scene or two, which wasn't really necessary for the story.

I liked the interesting community interaction and the details about the blue and pink ribbons representing the involvement of the small community in the relationship of Jeff and Ivey, and also thought the young doctor's life was truly depicted and including various patient stories did a lot to add interest to the story.

Overall, it was a reasonably well written and an easy read (only 14 chapters), but I didn't really feel that I got to know the characters very well.

Love and careers are tough enough, add in a secret pregnancy and then a tragic loss and it makes for some bad choices and wrong directions. But if the love is the long lasting true kind the couple will find each other again.

Jeff and Ivey have such a strong connection just like magnets. Even in a town of ribbon localities, white colour ex husbands and wine you'll find a compelling reason to laugh and cry with this couple.
