So you think you're afraid of the dark?
Twenty-two-year-old Beth Ann is content with her small-town life. That is, until the day America’s electric grid is destroyed by terrorists. What starts out as an inconvenience quickly becomes a catastrophe - not only do the lights stay off, but cars won’t run and phones are dead. The world screeches to a halt. Without communication and basic supplies like food and water, widespread confusion spirals into deadly chaos within days.
A wealthy opportunist saves the townspeople with his secret cache of food and easily takes over the desperate town. But the darkness that follows is even more devastating than the electrical outage. When Beth Ann finds herself on her own, she must do whatever it takes to survive.
Alone is a companion novel to the best-selling Equipping Modern Patriots Series, written in coordination with survival expert and preparedness consultant, Jonathan Hollerman.

I loved the story, especially coming from a woman's perspective on what really is happening in a tragedy such as the one depicted here.
Christina made the characters come alive, you felt their hope, their loss, their despair.
While this story is, of course, fiction Christina shows the ugly side of humanity as well as those who are compassionate & humane.
Beyond a great story this made me think of the emergency that caused it all......while we would like to think that it is just a remote possibility, the "Afterward" written by Jonathan Hollerman just scares you to death and makes you wonder if we aren't all taking our life here just a little too much for granted.
Buy this book for yourself and buy one for all those that you love. Get together and talk about it after you have read it, I don't think you'll be sorry.
Glad you finally did this. I hope you keep going. The woman's perspective is missing from this genre.
You and PA Glaspy are the only 2 that I am aware of. If you can open more women's eyes to this very serious and potientally life changing attack you will have done a great service to society. More people need to open their eyes. Statistics list only 3M preppers which is only 1% of the population.
Of course polls and stats are usually badly manipulated, look at yesterday's inauguration, media is so wrong. Maybe with you and other women taking this up we can get up to 2% and the 3 and so on.
Keep going and we will keep reading. Buy the book guys you will enjoy it
Future edits:
p 293 the character's name changes from Mary Jo to Mary Lou
p 286 it should be gristly, not grisly
p 297 it should be Nearby a diesel engine roared to life
p 298 door jamb, not door jam
