About the author

Tiya Rayne is an avid reader and writer. She has an unhealthy relationship with coffee and is known to hide numerous bags of jelly beans around the house.
When she is not reading or writing—which is rare—she’s trying to master this thing called parenting. She is married to her high school sweetheart and they live in Arkansas with their three— subjectively wonderful—children. Tiya also writes Young Adult Paranormal under the pen name KC Connor.

I read up to the 46% stage, skim through to the sappy Lifetime ending with its 3 - 4 kids, and will now delete this hot mess from my Kindle.
This had the bones of a good read, but the bad writing ruined it. The characters were two-dimensional at best, and the villains - the evil mad-scientist doctor, and the main female character's family - had me rolling my eyes. The run-on sentences, unneeded extra words tacked on to sentences, overdone explanations, etc. had me correcting stuff more than actually reading through the story...which was painful in itself.
I don't claim to be a good writer or anything, but I know that I could have done better than this. You know - having a dictionary handy does a lot to improve one's writing. Hell, just having Wikipedia and Wiktionary up while you're tapping away would help. When the author used the word impervious instead of imperative, I was done.

Spoilers ahead
Morgan lives a hard life in a family that uses and abuses her. Their abuse causes her to stutter so badly that she retreats into herself. The only people to love her were her grandparents and in their finals acts of love, they leave her a very wealthy woman. She has an abusive husband who seems to be in love with her beautiful younger sister Monroe.
Morgan is kidnapped one day and learns she is to become a breeder for genetically modified supersoldiers in asecret lab. And thats where we meet ALPHA, the first to survive this experiment and leader of the super soldiers.
ALPHA is everything. I want one. He loves Morgan at first sight and protects her from the Dr.Frankenstein at the lab.
I wont give too much more away, but this book is filled with action, hot love scenes, who done it and more. It's so well written you will not want to put it down. If I could give it 10 stars I would. BRAVO!!
Alpha is a genetically enhanced super soldier. Morgan is an African American who is abused by her husband mistreated by her family. She is abducted to breed with Alpha. The fact that a super soldier is created in a lab with DNA from some type of alien is unbelievable. Even more unbelievable is the fact that he can procreate with a human female.
There is some mystery and intrigue with an unexpected villain. It was enjoyable enough to read in one sitting. Even though everything is tied up neatly, the ending felt rushed. I would love to read more about the other genetically enhanced super soldiers and how they adjust to life outside the lab.
A quick note about Morgan’s looks and the family dynamic. First, the family, ummm...sooo cliche! It’s like the author saw an episode of Dynasty (the OG one, not the modern one) and modeled Morgan’s mother after Dominique Devereaux. I skipped past anything that had to do with her family because it was all one big eye roll.
Lastly, I felt like at every turn we are reminded in some way that Morgan is a bigger girl, with darker skin and kinky hair. We know that. I want more details of the men, not of Morgan’s pudgy stomach!

This is my first time reading a Tiya Rayne. I downloaded a sample and it got me interested from the get go. So I stumped up the costly sum of 99p (that's a joke peeps, I'm not that tight) and settled into my bus journey.
Morgan is repressed, passive and compliant. Psychologically abused by her parents and physically abused by her husband. She is kidnapped to be used as part of a secret government experiment.
Destined to be forcibly bred to produce super soldiers, she manages to find love in a desolate place.
This book has many twists and turns to keep you gripped from start to finish. Thoroughly loved it.
So why only four stars? The typos, the spelling mistakes and at times the grammar was highly annoying. It's 'dragged' not 'drug'.
This irritation took some of the shine off what essentially is a really good read. Enjoy peeps 😉
