Allergy alert: Naproxen sodium may cause a severe allergic reaction, especially in people allergic to aspirin. Symptoms may include: hives; facial swelling; asthma (wheezing); shock; skin reddening; rash; blisters. If an allergic reaction occurs, stop use and seek medical help right away. Stomach bleeding warning: This product contains an NSAID, which may cause severe stomach bleeding. The chance is higher if you: are age 60 or older; have had stomach ulcers or bleeding problems; take a blood thinning (anticoagulant) or steroid drug; take other drugs containing prescription or nonprescription NSAIDs (aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, or others); have 3 or more alcoholic drinks every day while using this product; take more or for a longer time than directed. Heart attack and stroke warning: NSAIDs, except aspirin, increase the risk of heart attack, heart failure, and stroke. These can be fatal. The risk is higher if you use more than directed or for longer than directed. Do not use: if you have ever had an allergic reaction to any other pain reliever/fever reducer; right before or after heart surgery. Ask a doctor before use if: the stomach bleeding warning applies to you; you have a history of stomach problems, such as heartburn; you have high blood pressure, heart disease, liver cirrhosis, kidney disease, asthma, or had a stroke; you are taking a diuretic; you have problems or serious side effects from taking pain relievers or fever reducers. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are: under a doctor’s care for any serious condition; taking aspirin for heart attack or stroke, because naproxen may decrease this benefit of aspirin; taking any other drug. When using this product: take with food or milk if stomach upset occurs. Stop use and ask a doctor if: you experience any of the following signs of stomach bleeding: feel faint; vomit blood; have bloody or black stools; have stomach pain that does not get better; you have symptoms of heart problems or stroke: chest pain; trouble breathing; weakness in one part or side of body; slurred speech; leg swelling; pain gets worse or lasts more than 10 days; fever gets worse or lasts more than 3 days; you have difficulty swallowing; it feels like the pill is stuck in your throat; redness or swelling is present in the painful area; any new symptoms appear. If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. It is especially important not to use naproxen sodium during the last 3 months of pregnancy unless definitely directed to do so by a doctor because it may cause problems in the unborn child or complications during delivery. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away (1-800-222-1222).

Active ingredient (in each caplet): Naproxen sodium 220 mg (naproxen 200 mg) (NSAID)* *nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Inactive ingredients: FD&C blue no. 2 aluminum lake, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, povidone, talc, titanium dioxide.

Directions

Directions: Do not take more than directed; the smallest effective dose should be used; drink a full glass of water with each dose. Adults and children 12 years and older: take 1 caplet every 8 to 12 hours while symptoms last; for the first dose you may take 2 caplets within the first hour; do not exceed 2 caplets in any 8- to 12-hour period; do not exceed 3 caplets in a 24-hour period. Children under 12 years: ask a doctor.

Naproxen Sodium is the same as Aleve, with the same active ingredient, except it is less expensive than Aleve. I have had lower backaches, muscle cramps and joint pain for years and always used Aleve because it worked better for me over products like Aspirin, Advil or Ibuprofen. Last year, I discovered Naproxen thru my health insurance plan and found that it was every bit as efficient as Aleve. My insurance plan has changed and now no longer covers OTC products so I am back to buying pain relievers out of pocket. For me, I will buy Naproxen Sodium over Aleve every time. For the best price, the higher the count (bulk) should always bring the lowest cost per count but also, only buy as many as you might use before the expiration date. I received my bottle on May 3, 2018 and it has an expiration date of Nov, 2019.

I am a physician, so i can't recommend this or any pharmaceutical product to anyone but my own patients... There is a lot to consider about using any NSAID for even brief periods of time and i hope people will confer with their doctors about issues such as naproxen's potential effects on the stomach lining, the kidneys, liver, platelet and blood clotting as well as blood pressure and water retention.

I will print out that I personally felt this was a good price for the number of pills in the bottle and when I took it for my pain, one tablet lasted 8-12 hours easily.

Not much you can say about this except that its very effective, and, much cheaper than the name brand stuff...I really don't know why someone would spend the money for the name brand with something like this available, but if that is what they prefer...About the only thing I can say I don't like about this is the cap. It's one of those that you spin around till the arrows are aligned and are a real pain in the butt. They are probably the oldest form of childproof cap around and should have been tossed a long time ago. They are far more frustrating to me than the ones you have to squeeze and turn. In any event, I transferred these to a bottle with a regular cap since there are no youngin's around here to worry about. Other than the cap, this stuff is a fine effective deal that I can highly recommend..

Great NSAID For Lower Back Pain

Long story short, I have a bum lower back. 1 degenerative disk and 2 herniated causing sciatica and chronic pain. I've done everything short of surgery, and I am honestly scared too go under the knife at 36 yrs old.

I've been dealing with this for 15 years now and the only non narcotic medicine that works for me is naproxen.

I don't know why it's the only NSAID that works but I've heard the same from other people with back problems.

With that said, I've spent a lot of unnecessary money on name brand naproxen, mainly alieve gel caps.

We'll I decide to give Amazon brand a shot. Over used them for other basic meds and vitamins.

The amount of naproxen they give you for the price is amazing. Compare the ingredients (active and nonactive) and they are the exact same. And most importantly they work just the same or even better than the expensive name brand!

The price per unit/pill is extremely cheap, even compared to other non-name brands! All you are passing extra for is a brand name. Capitalism at it's best ehh?!

I am very happy I switched to Amazon basic care brand for a lot of my meds and vitamins.

I would highly recommend this product and saving you money on unnecessary name brands

Cheaper Generic Supplement That Is Just As Effective

As an aging ex-athlete I have more than my share of aches and pains mainly from inflammation at the sites of old injuries. Naproxen has proven to be a steady stand-bye in providing the relief I need to ignore the nagging pain from those old transgressions. "If I would have known then what I know now, I would have taken better care of myself".
Ah yes, but the immortality of being a young and strong teenager.

I take one every morning with food so that it doesn't bring on any stomach irritation. Since it lasts 12 hours, I occasionally have to take another one at night because it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. At age 70 I don't want to surrender to inactivity and I still do lots of landscaping and repairs around the house.

After all "if it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing". That of course is what got me in trouble in the first place.

Generic Alieve--Great value and it works all the same

This is a generic version of Alieve. Naproxen is the actual drug name for this name brand. I've been using this for a REALLY bad back knots and spasms for about a week. Alieve is what my ER doc prescribed to help alleviate some of the pain for my after care while my body recovered from very bad back spasms and knots. Please note that most doctors will not prescribe opioids or narcotic pain killers anymore due to heightened abuse and government oversight so OTC pain alievers like this are almost the most you can get a doctor to tell you to take now.

The value for this bottle is better than Walmart or Walgreen for similar packaging. If you buy off Amazon Pantry you can get even better value. Shipping is usually one-day with prime on these as well.
