Yes, the new style WD My Passport drives fit. Here's a 4TB drive. The drive fits comfortably, but anything larger wouldn't. This is a quality protective case, though not heavily padded, but that would add additional thickness and make it less suiting to my needs.

It's a well-made case, and the price is right, but it is tough to gauge which drives fit. And just because a drive "fits", doesn't mean it fits well. Although the description says it fits Seagate drives, and this was technically true - My Seagate drive did fit, but there is too much room inside and the drive sloshed around (resulting in potential damage to the drive).
I returned this larger case, and opted instead for the smaller sized case ([[ASIN:B003LSTD38 AmazonBasics Hard Carrying Case for My Passport Essential]], which fit my Buffalo and Seagate drives perfectly. See my attached pics for size comparison.

It fits fine. The product description says max compatible dimensions would fit a width of 0,63", which is incorrect. I wanted a case this size and not the larger one because I wanted a snug fit for my WD 4TB My Passport Portal External Hard Drive (WDBYFT0040BBK-WESN). Luckily another reviewer said it fits, glad I went with this one.
It is a good fit. You have to make sure the USB cable isn't bunching up or you can't zip the case closed.
Durable enough for office and travel needs. AmazonBasics is for us economy types, so if you're looking for something that'll survive a trek through the rainforest and be mud repellent, or a stampede of wildebeests and come out without a scratch, don't buy this one and write a bad review.

Pros:

Cons:
No cushion inside the pouch
I was looking for a simple case that could hold a small hard drive.
Also to keep the cable with a hard drive as well as prevent small jerks and scratches.
Although this case does not provide significant padding/protection from drops, use it carefully.
I would not trust this case to stop damage to the hard drive from water or being banged around here and there.
I handle my hard disk carefully as I am using it to take backup and put it back in the closet. So this was a perfect fit for me.
