AmazonBasics PlayStation 4 Controller Charging Cable
Enjoy the thrill of PlayStation 4 game time while simultaneously charging your PS4 controller with the AmazonBasics PlayStation 4 Controller Charging Cable. The 6-foot charging cable provides a comfortable distance between the PS4 console and the controller, making it easy to stay in the game—no need to stop and recharge.
- 6-foot charging cable
- Micro USB to USB-A connectors
- Play PS4 while charging the controller
- Can charge a mobile phone with a micro-USB input
- Allows players to sync data with the PS4
- Backed by an AmazonBasics 1-year limited warranty
The cable provides a micro USB connector on one end and a USB type-A connector on the other end. The USB type-A connector fits directly into the PS4 console, and the micro USB connector fits securely into the PS4 controller with no loose wiggling, which means you can confidently use the controller while it charges.
When connected to the USB port of a PS4 console, the charging cable can fully charge a controller in just 1.5 to 2 hours. Once fully charged, the controller can provide 15 to 30 hours of battery life, depending on the game.
The charging cable offers convenient charging from any PS4 console or other power source with a USB port. It can even be used to charge a mobile phone with a micro-USB input.
An Amazon Brand.

The first cable didn't work at all, the second gave me issues from the start and finally physically broke apart.
Amazon does not provide support for these cables if they do not work.
These cables appear to use a cheap glue to hold the USB connector into the cable. This glue will wear down after a while, even without any stimulation to the cable. At first, this will cause some input delay that will only be slightly noticable, presumably due to the inner connections becoming less firmly connected. Then, as the glue wears down further simple act of removing the cable from the usb port will completely break the cable. Looking at how the USB connector breaks, the inner metal materials seem to be incredibly cheaply integrated as well, and very poorly inserted into the connector (thus explaining why data flow was problematic to begin with, and why the simple act of glue weakening was enough to deteriorate data flow further).
In short, this is as poorly made a cable as you'll ever find. You can basically load any random listing and find a better USB to Micro-USB cable than this, and given how extremely common these cables are, you've a wide selection of brands to choose from. Do yourself a huge favor, and avoid buying this straight-to-trash-can cable.
To add insult to injury, the order never gave me a support link for this particular product. Presumably, that means Amazon simply does not provide support for this product- as such, there's yet another reason to avoid this product, given how Amazon will normally give you product support for just about anything on their site. Presumably, that means non-Amazon-branded USB cables may receive Amazon support where their own branded cable does not. Though perhaps it's simply that they don't provide support to cables at all. Either way, there's a lot of risk in this purchase.
On the bright side, if they ever improve the quality control.. by a significant degree.. then this cable is of an appealing length and aesthetic. I'd definitely be able to firmly recommend it if the quality was even just average, rather than so far below that.
Seeing as I intentionally paid extra over other brands to get this Amazon brand cable, I'm most certainly disappointed in how things turned out. The most absurd element is, Amazon is fully capable of making a decent USB to MicroUSB cable, as they make them (in better quality) for their Amazon tablets. Makes you wonder just how they managed to bungle things up so elaborately, here.
I used to have an Xbox Wireless Adapter for my PC, I've had two of them, they stop working after some time. Also, my 360 controllers stop taking charges after some time, and will now only work with the charge cable, which sadly is incompatible with the PC.
The PS4 USB cable, though is compatible. This is handy if you have a couple or more PS4 controllers, and dont want to keep switching the usb cable from the console to the pc.
