AmazonBasics Jumper Cables
4 Gauge, 20 Feet
Easily boost a dead car battery back to life with help from AmazonBasics jumper cables. The jumper cables utilize a second battery, typically from another car, to give the drained or completely dead battery an extra boost of energy. Whether needing a jump-start or coming to the rescue for someone else, the jumper cables make a useful addition to any trunk’s auto-care collection of tools.

4 Gauge Rating
When it comes to jumper cables, a low gauge rating means a thicker, more heavy-duty cable, which translates to faster, more efficient performance. Jumper cables with an 8 gauge rating will jump start most vehicles, while jumper cables with a 6 or 4 gauge rating or less might be needed for more oomph when jump starting larger vehicles with bigger batteries.
This pair of AmazonBasics 4-gauge jumper cables works well for vans, large-size SUVs, full-size cars, mid-size cars, and small/compact cars.
Red and Black Clamps
The jumper cables provide heavy-duty alligator clamps. Each of the four tight-grip clamps (two red and two black) includes a strong spring and a comfortable handle for secure placement and easy positioning. The red and black exteriors make it simple to connect the right color to the battery's’ positive (+) and negative (-) metal terminals.
The jumper cables’ 20-foot length makes it easy to reach from one car battery to another. No need to be nose to nose; two cars can be in a nose-to-end tandem position (front to back), and the cable will still reach. This can be especially useful in a single-car driveway or in a parking lot.

ALUMINUM stranded wires coated with copper to make look like a quality set of jumper cables. Aluminum breaks easily and not reliable enough to depend on when needed.
Someone worked hard at the deception of copper jumper cables
We discussed the different cables that I could buy her, and how they would fit in the car, she totally dismissed the idea of the large 0 gauge cables I use on diesel trucks and tractors and insisted they don't take up too much space. Looking things over on Amazon on the cost/length/gauge set, these were the best value for the dollar.
In the end, I am extremely happy with these, they are much better than the best sets at the big box store, and since they have a nifty little case they stay organized for my wife's car. I am super happy with these and would not hesitate to use them on my trucks without fear of them melting down as some of the sets we have bought for her before have. I will be buying them again.
Critics complain that it is made with copper-coated aluminum wire. Big deal. There's a lot othick conductor cabling and most sources agree that copper is only slightly better as a conductor than aluminum. Aluminum is also cheaper, lighter and more malleable...in other words the cable is light and flexible with a thick coating.
The clamps are the most solid I've used and also have reinforcements to hold the wire tight and prevent fraying or loosening. I find these much cheaper and heavier duty than stock extension wires for trolling motors (ie: almost $10 for 2ft versus 12 ft...I returned the short ones).
SHIPPING WARNING!! - I ordered 2 of these for both of my cars. The boxes for both of them came damaged and I had to return one of the 2 due to the cable bag going missing. The replacement box also arrived damaged. The box is a bit cheap but thats okay with me. I got what I wanted.
The jumper cable quality is great and look good. The cable bag that came with it makes it easy to store in both cars. For the price, these are hard to beat.!!!
I managed to get the spot next to her, the cables are long enough that I probably could have hooked them up parked behind her. The cables are clearly labelled and directions right on a handy card attached to the cables, it's been a few years since I had to give a jump, so having the instructions handy was reassuring.
Anyway got her enough juice to turn the engine over so she could make it to the garage for a replacement battery. I got a nice thank you dinner out of it so I am already ahead from this purchase.

The description is misleading, and i request Amazon to Pull off this product or Correct the details, i think its probably more suitable for bike only.
A lot of reviews talk about the wires not being up to the mark. I have been using this to jump start 24v systems, 80Ah 12V units and even 9Ah 12v 2w units and never had any problems. Even if the wires are higher resistance than spec, unless you are jump-starting your vehicle daily, this should be fairly enough.
1) Heavy gauge pure copper wire used
2) Superb insulation for better protection
3) 130 A rated (This wire can start a fortuner easily)
4)Heavy duty Tight Alligator claims for better hold
5) Heavy gauge pure copper clamps for better power transfer
6) 16 Foot Lenth for east connection
7)Good quality carry bag
8) <<<UL Certified VERY IMPORTANT>>>
UL is a 100 YEAR OLD American world leader in product safety testing and CERTIFICATION. A UL certificate is proof of superb quality
ITS costlier than other jumper cable (But it is much better quality than other cables also)
We were dead on battery as someone forgot the reading lights on . 4 am on a highway with nothing but a help from fellow traveler we got our car going in few minutes
- Long enough and very thick cables
- Jump starts in minutes and very efficient.
- Better for Winter and looks non rusty.
- Easily portable and excellent free case to bag the cables
- Simple instruction in multiple languages.
Overall this is inexpensive and must have accessory in all cars. I highly recommend this product to all drivers around the world.
Well in this case, I NEEDED - HAD - BUT IT DIDN'T WORK.
So my i20 would not start (turns out batt was COMPLETELY drained). Called roadside assist. Because of space restrictions, they parked as close as possible BUT their jumper cables (that were almost TWICE the diameter of the AmazonBasics ones) was a bit small. I enthusiasticly said I think mine is longer (hahahaha no pun intended), as it was (hahahaha). The mechanic took one look at it and said it won't work as his cousin had bought the same and it couldn't take the load (hehehe). Right enough it didn't even spark as they were connecting their car battery to mine.
With a lot of effort, they managed to squeeze the cars close enough for their jumper cable to connect and it worked.
But, that doesn't mean they are cheap.
The length is pretty decent, with good insulation and sturdy large clamps, that have copper contact points.
If you are going on a long haul, then I suggest you must have a - 1) Tyre inflation pump, 2) Tow straps, 3) Puncture repair kit, 4) Jack, 5) Wheel spanner and these 6) Jumper cables.
I suggest, you also carry a sheet of waterproof 100 grit emery paper and a small quantity of vaseline.
Well, back to the Jumper Cables, I bought - they are 'Value for Money' !
