I bet you the bad reviewers haven’t even watched the show. Just trolls! If you don’t like LGBTQ love, don’t watch it. Gay people have spent decades of watching heteo people have sex with no complains. Stop holding on to your hate. Darn, we are subjected to an older man with a much younger woman. It’s old! Pun intended! It also perpetuates the toxic patriarch. Look at the implications. Men leave their wives for younger women all the time because it’s socially constructed to be okay. And you say there a filthy gay agenda? I’d suggest you take a different look at what truly is going on.
Maybe the majority of us want to see movies that represent truth and reality. There’s nothing wrong with same sex love, just the narrow-minded programs that were taught to you starting from a young age. Open your minds and let love( whomever you love) win. There is not gay agenda right wing conspiracy theorists. 😂
Btw... you won’t sex a more accurate representation of a love scene between two women. ( both actresses but wow Kate😳) Except for the time... ADD about 6 more hours ( on average)and then you see what authentic love making between two women is. Haha! 😂

I was so excited for this movie to come out. Really disappointed not to find it in any theaters near me, for starters. NO SPOILERS HERE: I think we all knew the story based on the trailers/previews but I, unfortunately, felt that had I not been told they would fall in love, I would not have seen it coming. I think more time needed to be spent on the spark between the two. At what point did one FEEL for the other? The middle of the story was wonderful. The ending...BOOOO. The cinematography was really nice. There was so much more the director could have done with the story to draw us in but I felt it was simply a series of moments and I really hate to say a negative word about it. KW and SR were fantastic of course. But the ending just stuck us in a moment and turned out the light. I'm sorry but the ending sucked and I hate it for the two stars because I'm sure there was so much more to say. The movie let down is not a reflection of their jobs. It feels like the director either ran out of money or had no sense of his mission. I'll love the movie for what it represents but I feel the ball was dropped and not by the actors. Their love scenes btw were so raw and beautiful, it won't be soon forgotten.

Slow burn but very realistic for the time this story takes place. Spoiler Alert!!!! It's not a happy ending and it reminded me of the French film Portrait of a Lady on Fire. Don't expect a happy story since of course, it's a story of the love between two women that takes place in the early 19th century.

Even though the actresses are obviously top of the industry, which we all know already, the writing and directing are plain awful. Good story telling unfolds information to help us learn the characters, what challenges they are facing, how they are overcoming them... so we relate to them, we feel moved by them. In Ammonite, the characters do reveal themselves - only in an extremely slow pace with very abrupt transitions, which align with the fact that most of the events were redundant in terms of telling us who these characters are and they end up, OF COURSE, flat and UNRELATABLE which made this supposably profound, romantic movie between 2 beautiful women with rich backgrounds NOT. MOVING!🙄 (Didn’t think it was even possible!)
Winslet and Ronan were stunning. What a waste of talent, and our time.

I couldn't wait to watch this. I was extremely excited. Now I'm left wanting. This story could have been so much richer and more in depth if there were actual conversations. The actors were amazing. The costumes were amazing. The setting beyond beautiful and the writing was lack luster. I felt like most of the film was just silent looks of disgust and depression. The lack of dialogue made even the love between the two actors unrelatable.
