The Darkness will strike again.
The last time Carl, Volka, and 6T9 fought the Dark, 6T9 failed Volka. If he wants her and all the carbon-based life forms that he loves to survive, he needs to change. Change is as easy as flipping a switch for an android, but dealing with the consequences is not so simple.
In order to save Volka, he’ll have to give up a part of himself that Volka adores. He’ll need to become something an innocent, peace-loving sex ‘bot was never designed to be...something he despises.
To save Volka and the galaxy he’ll need to become Android General 1.

Sixty has come into being his own person with the ability to change his programming without having to answer to anyone. He now owns himself. But with that, he is experiencing emotions which he knew intelligentially but never experienced emotionally. His first one was anger which he never knew that he had so much of it stored up in him. But later he experiences love, jealousy, empathy, and even humor. As he continues to grow, his also learns to control his emotions. Loved that you learn so much about him and on a side note you also learn a bit more about others like Alaric, James and the One.
Volka is from the lowest class of beings on Luddeccea, her home planet, but she has such special talents that she is respected by many in the higher administration. She has the ability to sense Dark and treats machines as friends and with respect. She is so unique and even though you think that she is naïve, she is not. She just has a lot of respect for others and wants to help where she can. She is a total contradiction where she can kill without thought but will fight to save even a machine.
Spoiler: the ending was a cliffhanger but in some ways it was not. I loved Sixty’s line just before the story ends. To me that was one of the best lines in the book.
Once again, Sixty, Volka, Carl Sagan, Sundancer, Noa, James, and the Marines are trying to save the galaxy from the Dark. Alaric and his team are also fighting it in a different sector. For them all, the fight is very real and frightening since not everyone they are trying to protect even believes the threat is real...
C. Gockel has written another great story in the Archangel Project series. Sixty is evolving with his new programming... and he asks Volka an amazing question! Too, Volka is growing more confident - confident enough to seek help from Alaric's wife Alexis... and gets it! Sixty, Volka, Carl, and Sundancer are my favorite characters. It's great to see them grow and rise to the challenges facing them; yet, they still have their moments with their budding relationship! The stories in this series keep getting better and better as we go along!
I was given an ARC, and I am freely sharing my opinion with you all - and I bought a copy to support this talented writer! I can't wait for the NEXT book to come out! This is a fun series that you will definitely enjoy as the characters and the world will keep you glued to your easy chair!
All of the fun, witty, and seat-of-the-pants adventure that I have come to expect from Carolynn's writing is here, in abundance, along with a few plot twists that I did NOT see coming! It's always such a pleasure when a writer can take me by surprise.
Job well done and two thumbs up, WAY UP, for Android General 1. I'm already eager to read the next installment of the adventures of 6T9 and all of his friends.
Spoiler alert: Yes, this one is a cliffhanger...in a very good way!
Military science fiction is at it's best in this series, combining with a powerful love story to create a thought-provoking journey into the depths of duty, despair, & daring.
The love between Volka and 6t9 is a story for the ages
The Dark is the greatest villain ever
Keep it going you are great and tell the most wonderful exciting stories.
