For some reason, this novel didn't really spark anything within me. I felt Xara came across as 17 the entire story. There was chemistry and concern but not enough for me to be as forgiving of Mike as Xara.

Falling for his friend Xara, in their senior year of HS, was not in his future. But, maybe his future has just begun. There is a second part of their story as well as a final update on all the guys and their significant others. I will be reading it after The Darkest Knight.

I don't know what to say. I'm in awe of how good these books are.

The Jinhai twist at the end was top tier! I did NOT expect that at all.

Mike and Xara's love for each other was so good. I almost gave up on the story because I really don't like reading teenaged romance. I'm too far beyond that age. LOL I do LOVE that the sex scenes didn't start until they were in their 20s. I would have skimmed detailed scenes prior to them being beyond high school. Just ew. K. Alex did an outstanding job on deciding not to go down that road.

The thing that kind of bothered me though was that there was not a lot of interaction with the team. I LIVE for the team. The team makes the series. So this wasn't my favorite book because of that.

This long, wordy book was so good. I said I wasn't going to read another one for a while, but I am hooked. Xara mom made me so angry. I am surprised she succeeded. When Xara told her mom off, I almost cried. The only someone to get with her was Mike. I loved Mike. What happened to Mike's cousin? Jinhai said he didn't kill her. Sometimes you repeated some thoughts. That's what made it so long. It was worth it. I have a numb behind, and very sleepy.. You know this is a good book. I thought all the men already had their women when you wrote about Michael. That is what kept me confused. Good book anyway. I am glad they didn't let anything stop their love.
