Absolutely phenomenal. The emotional roller-coaster for sure. Highly recommend. For those who criticized this movie, to be honest I think you missed the point. Yes it's an unrealistic horror film, however, the ending is what we all would hope for if we could go back in history, yet the ending is with the thought provoking twist. Take us all back to that time just all of a sudden, would we survive, and most importantly, would we fight back?!! To the writers and producers, thank you so much for making this movie. Janelle Monáe was flawless. Amazing acting from everyone. And most of all it reminds us that history will repeat itself and is repeating itself if we don't learn from it and change the future. It opens your eyes to the fact that Black Lives Matter does not stand for "White People Are Bad", but instead it stands for a fact that we must learn from the experiences of those around us and not turn a blind eye when those experiences make us feel uncomfortable. This movie deserves an Oscar in my humble opinion. Very powerful ending - from the hell of the past riding right into the SAME hell of the present. Brilliant. Still crying.

The plot twist is breathtaking. This film does such a good job at building all characters and events. It’s engaging, suspenseful, thought provoking and disturbing. We wanted to go back and re-watch it right away. There are so many layers to it that once you reach the end you want to watch it again to see it for what is truly is. Well made!

Honestly, this movie can have my $20 again and again. When you realize the depravity of it all, the plausibility of it, I'm here for it. Like "Get Out" it plays heavily as my deepest darkest fears. I wouldn't change a thing. No further explanation is needed. This was everything. A+

One of the worst films I’ve ever seen. As of 2020 couldn’t get any worse. Now this embarrassment. Where the plot? What’s the point? Absolute waste of money. Honestly it’s so bad it’s hardly worth anyone’s time for a review.

Turned my expectations on their head and kept me on the edge of my seat. An important watch and entertaining throughout. The twists and subtle moments really build to something interesting and special. Highly recommend watching. Great performance from Janelle Monae.

The context of the story is strong, yet the film is a huge disappointment. As stated in another review, this movie tries to copy Peele's film "Get Out" but fails terribly (Wilmore, 2020). Wilmore from Vulture continues and states, "In comparison... [it] linger[s] in the vicinity of subjects like racism and political divides without actually making any points about them."
The movie paints a strong picture of the horrific treatment slaves endured, but this movie fails to do what Peele does so well. It instead provides obvious metaphors and cheap scenes the way knock-off brands try to recreate high end fashion products and utterly fail.
This movie is simply not worth 20 dollars. While there are strong and moving scenes, most of the film is poorly developed. The message is clear, the concept is great, but it lacks in story development and story telling ( I.E. characters are introduced in the beginning and don't reappear until their death scene at the end.) Overall no one can deny there are some good scenes in the film, but only "a few good scenes" does not make a quality movie.

The movie starts out seeming as if it will be interesting and be good like a psychological thriller or something great and it's just the exact opposite. Not worth $20 to watch at all, wouldn't even be worth $20 to have the movie on Blue Ray. Horrible movie.

it definitely has similarities to Get Out and Us but was also uniquely different in its own way. In some ways it was also released at an interesting time given what is going on in society. I would recommend watching it and if you don't quite understand it the first time, watch again for sure.
