1.0 out of 5 stars Not official Apple product, iPhone did not recognize
By Jennifer Spencer on January 19, 2017
Ordered this from Amazon LLC. My iPhone 7+ says it is not compatible and it does not work with my phone. Also, it is different from what is pictured, you can easily tell as the official apple product (as pictured on Amazon) has two cylinders with flat transitions from the rubber to the plastic/metal 3.5 receiving end and has flat transitions on the lightning side as well. The product I rec'd has a rounded transitions from the wire into the connectors. I'm a little disappointed Amazon would sell this, which appears to be a faulty product based on my first shipment, directly to consumers. I expect this when purchasing from third party sellers from China, but not from Amazon itself. I am exchanging this in the hopes that they have since remedied this as I haven't had problems with their "generic" items before.

Update: Just received the exchange product from amazon, it appears to look the same as an original apple product and works with the iPhone 7+. Will update if product fails.

1.0 out of 5 stars Used adaptors being sold as new for full MSRP price
By Recon on June 9, 2017
These are used Apple lightening adaptors being sold as new for the exact same price as the Apple Store. I suggest you just go get a new one from Apple.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT SUPPORTED BY IPHONE 7+
    By Daniel Ruiz-Isasi on February 8, 2018
"This Accessory Is Not Supported By This iPhone". Used it with my iPhone 7+ trying with both my Bose Quiet Comfort 2 & Bowers & Wilkins headphones & after a minute of play time it stopped saying that these devices were not compatible. Tried again using the original iPhone adapter that came with my phone & it worked perfectly. DO NOT BUY THESE.

1.0 out of 5 stars Broke after 1 fall from 3 feet - Want my money back!!!!
By Christopher Arokiaraj on November 10, 2017
Wow...I am usually good at keeping things safe...While listening to music the phone fell down from literally like 3 feet and this edge connecting to the phone broke...I was lucky enough to get the thing out instead of getting stuck in my phone....
    Waste of money.

I was sceptical at first reading reviews about this adapter. Brand: Apple is listed on the product page right under header line however looking at reviews obviously some people got compatible adapters and some original brand Apple.

The key difference between Apple and not is the list of features that the adapter supports.

I was lucky enough to get the original Apple brand "Lightning to Headphone Jack" adapter. It supports music playback to any headphones, volume and call control on Apple headphones and the ones that are compatible.
Looking through features of other lighting to headphone adapters not necessary cheaper you can see that only some support volume control and very few call control.

Good product and value if you get original Apple Brand adapter. Tested on iPhone 7+ It supports music, volume and call control.

5.0 out of 5 stars Authentic Apple product with good ol' Apple quality
Reviewed in Canada on December 9, 2020
These are authentic, real Apple brand. I was very hesitant to buy these with the excessive amount of reviews calling them fake, and pictures of the product arriving in plastic baggies. But I took the gamble because it appears most of these reviews either came from before Amazon was listed as an official Apple retailer, or from people whose review history is questionable at best.

As for the product, I've attached pictures of the packaging I received. These are real. The quality is standard for an Apple product, and the sound quality is great. They work great with my iPhone. Enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars An impractical but necessary accessory for any recent iPhone owner
Reviewed in Canada on February 19, 2021
Bought in Feb 2021, seems to be legit Apple and not fake as old reviews claimed. I knocked off a couple stars only because it's ridiculous that this product needs to exist and I'm annoyed Apple removed the industry standard headphone jack in the first place but it is what it is, you gotta spend an extra $10 for an adapter that probably only costs $0.50 to make and should sell for $2-5 but whatever, it works. The wire is thin, I dont know why they couldn't use the same thickness wire as their standard Lightning cable which is slightly more durable than I expect this will be. Time will tell.
