All Lexi wants to do is get through the day at her boring temp job with Green Hand Insurance. That's until she discovers the vice president, Martin Dean, in a pool of blood and herself at the center of an investigation into insurance fraud.
Millions of dollars are missing, the chief suspect is dead and her mysterious, sexy new boss is not what he seems.
Recruited by the joint task force working on the case, all Lexi has to do is work out who killed Dean and where the missing millions are. That's easier said than done when her sister insists upon the baby shower to end all baby showers, her wise-ass cop family just wants to keep her safe, someone keeps leaving her creepy gifts, and all the clues point to a seedy sex club on the wrong side of town.
As the bodies start to pile up, Lexi is on a race against time to find the killer and the money, before she's the next one in the murderer's sights.

Lexi Graves is a temp working in the administrative building of an insurance company doing filing, writing reports, doing research, helping out with typing. The type of stuff that other staff members shove off on a temp. One night she gets carried away with her research in the basement library and doesn't keep track of time, returning upstairs when everyone has left for the night only to stumble across one of the company big wigs - dead. And even worse - the killers are still in the building. Lexi hides in a closet only to discover she's not in there alone.
Armed and Fabulous is written in the first person from the point of view of Lexi Graves. A fun, flirty, fast moving story with poor Lexi stumbling across dead bodies all over the place while she assists the police department with their investigation into insurance fraud with several million dollars missing. There were plenty of red herrings and lots of action and lots of funny moments. Sad to say I figured out early on who the baddie was but the book was still highly entertaining for me to read.
Lexi Graves will be a series and I'm looking forward to reading more of her adventures.
Lexi is a temp at an insurance agency. She finds the agency’s boss murdered in his office, then is a witness to the murderers removing his body. This while she crammed into a closet with a very hunky police detective, aka, also undercover as her immediate boss at the agency.
Well, as the bodies pile up, Lexi gets deeper and deeper into whatever is going on - the murders, the detectives, her family.
Well written, smoooooth dialog, likable characters, almost a believable plot. I loved it and it leaves you knowing there’s more to come!!!!
Turned out the character was not guilty of either attribute. She was quite intelligent, dressed well but not an excessive clothes horse. More importantly, the book was well written, and the mystery kept me wondering for most of the book. And there are 2 romances, both in the early stages, so it will be interesting to see how that develops.
I look forward to reading the second book in the series.
The story has merits of a good plot. I figured it out rather quickly, but the story kept me reading to the end. The plot gets on quick, the people in it could be as real as anyone, and the situations made me pause. Much gory stuff to find in one week, but the good guys win in the end and the job offer makes one want to read the next book.

Lexi is a fake blonde, working as an office temp, living up to the stereotypical blonde image. In actual fact she’s a fast & able worker (apart from her constant accidental deleting of files). She just likes to drag out the day by sneaking off to Starbucks, spas & internet shopping, which her new boss has discovered. When she finds the Vice President dead in his office, she hides in the closet, only to discover she’s not alone!
Adam Maddox is an undercover cop, working as Lexi’s new boss, hoping to uncover a fraud scheme. He’s a bit of a gentleman wanting to keep her safe. Working alongside the FBI with the quiet & mysterious Solomon, it’s their job to keep Lexi safe while investigating the case. Lexi herself wants to help, but with danger lurking at every corner & dead bodies stacking up, she needs to take care she doesn’t end up being the next victim.
By the way, the title of the book is a little misleading: Lexi is not “armed & fabulous” until near the end of the book! Overall, an enjoyable read, & the following books all have witty titles.

Not as humorous as the author thinks though.
Good story but the book took ages to unveil the baddies even though I spotted him many chapters before the end. Not sure it needed such a long and laborious explanation of the crimes after the baddie had been unveiled and nabbed.
Enjoyable. Likely to buy other books in the series.

The good were the characters, they were attractive, interesting and sometimes witty and I wanted to know them better.
The not so good was the clumsy main plot, it had a few holes and was unnecessarily complicated, while the bad guy seemed obvious.
I am going to invest in the second book in this series in the hope that it will have a lighter touch when it comes to plotting and because I want to give Lexi, her friends, family and suitors another chance.

The story revolves around Lexi, a bored temp working in an Insurance Company. Bored that is until she discovers the body of the vice president – Martin Dean – lying in a pool of blood in his office. She suddenly finds herself recruited by a police task force, working undercover to solve a huge fraud scam, which her boss was somehow involved in. As people around her are killed off, Lexi realises that she has become the murderer’s next target. I guessed about three quarters of the way through who the murderer was, but it was still a good story with lots of twists and turns.
