What I liked about the book is that it had a ton of pictures. What I didn't like about the book was that it wasn't as detailed as I envisioned it to be. It wasn't linear and I like historical books to start at the beginning and track all the way to present day. It was a tad disjointed but I believe that it was worth the price I paid for it. I was under the impression that it was a book about my family history and I was disappointed when I realized it only contained snippets about certain branches of my family tree.

I bought this for my husband for Father's Day because he had seen it in the store and said he wanted it. He had already opened it and read the whole thing by the time I got home from work the day it arrived!!! I've read over it also, it's very nice learning some of the history of a lot of the buildings we see every day.

I am married to a descendent of Soloman Sawyer(s) who is buried at the Horne Creek farm. Many other family members are buried at the old church cemetery (Dault Sawyer(s), who was married to a Scales at one time, Lucy Kellum Sawyer(s), and others. Just happened on your book and will pass it on to my wife. My wife and I own several acres of the old Sawyer farm on Shoals Road.
