About the author

I have always enjoyed a good fairy tale-especially those that end in a “happily ever after.” Throughout high school and college, I spent my summers buried between the pages of a romance novel. I also enjoy a good mystery, Agatha Christie being my favorite. I’m an admitted television and film addict. I love my sleuths (from Miss Marple to Columbo to Monk). I’m a big fan of science fiction flicks and enjoy a good fright every now and again. Pitch Black was the most pleasant surprise I’ve had in years.

Our couple meet at a business meeting where Aryanna's boss is hitting on Dexter instead of discussing business and he's NOT having it! Aryanna steps in with a more professional business approach that engages Dexter. Dexter is really intrigued by Aryanna's intelligence and demeanor so despite his "lone-wolf" personality endeavours to spend more time with her.
I love Dexter, he is a genius and socially awkward despite his looks, he's all about his work and has little time for or understanding of how to maintain personal relationships. But make NO mistake although at time he comes across as possibly " on the spectrum ", Dexter is ALL MAN! Aryanna is loyal, sweet, loving and supportive. She also has the patience of a saint!!! They each try to be what the other needs but despite both Dexter and Aryanna's efforts AND with "evil forces "working against them they can't make it work.
They are apart for two years and have grown and "mellowed " and matured so when they get back together(fanning myself!!!) It's explosive! It's also really interesting to see what each had been doing in their time apart.... The book satisfactorily ties up all loose ends and has a good(if slightly unbelievable) epilogue.
I was extremely annoyed with the way all the characters kept trying to make the male MC see that he loved the female MC. She literally told him "you love me" over and over. It didn't fit with the first half of the story. Honestly I started skimming the sex scenes because of all the repeated "g spot" references. BUT each one was slightly different from what I usually see in contemporary romances. I also didn't like that I could not picture the characters at all! Even the smallest detail, eye color was confusing. The male MC had either violet, vibrant blue, or dark eyes. Very confusing. And the female MC is supposedly black, but you can't tell at all from the description.
I'm all for loving oneself, but glamorizing the gluttony of the female MC as well as the constant "I'm going to gain weight again" warnings was ridiculous. Either you don't care about your image, or you're doing something about it. I think the author tried to hard to appeal to overweight readers here. And it didn't add to the story's appeal.
***SLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD*****This story fit several tropes into the short book that all irked me. From miscommunication, to surprise pregnancy, to the whole mean boss thing. It was too much. And the epilogue, my goodness. To be blunt, it was just stupid.
Overall I would say this story rates about 3.5. The writing, while there were multiple editing issues, was well done and I like the writing style. Although time jumped a bit rapidly, I still believed the romance and it didn't appear to be insta-love. What I got from it was an instant attraction that lead into a believable romance.
Super sexy with a great conflict and two very likable main characters with a lot of chemistry. It also has an antagonist character you dislike who gets what they deserve. I especially love the hero's Dexter's attitude toward the cow who keeps pursuing him throughout the book. LOL. Dexter's mother's character arc was interesting but I guessed the outcome. Still I enjoyed it.
Also I really liked the late book development re: Dexter and BioExpa itself. This was a development that felt very much on brand for the hero and something that I would have expected to show up in the series if the author had continued writing it. It makes sense in this futuristic society that it would have happened at some point.
Very good installment.

This rich genius is robot like-his intelligence and blunt mom. It's a good thing he's gorgeous ( insemination & exercise)
She is naive, working for a shallow self obsessed female boss and withplenty of love to give. A saint who loves children, her job, and food.
These characters are cliche but good cliche. He's robot like but gets a heart transplant thanks to her love and Bio Expa. She's naive but gets the happy ending she deserves.
If only life was this perfect!!! If its not, grab this sweet romance
