★★★★★ "I've been a fan of Jasper Scott's books and series for many years. This latest book is just another reason he's in my file as 'Five Star Author.' My only problem with this book is the finish. It ends...and I'm not ready for it to end. I'm hoping this is the start of what looks to be a thrilling First Encounter series."
-William Schmidt, Amazon Reviewer
★★★★★ "I really love all of Jasper's books. He is my favorite sci-fi author by far. This book has a small cast of characters so it is easy to keep up with them. And there will be more to come so stay tuned."

2023 Update: "100% Human-written"
You will be seeing this stamped on all of my work, past and future. It is my pledge to you, the reader. My books are, and always will be, 100% human-written. Why? Because I personally don't want to read AI-written books, so I'm not going to subject you to it either. Some people won't care about this and others will. To those who do, I will not betray your trust.
Sincerely,
Jasper T. Scott

One of the Chimeras is telepathic (as the author has made sure we knew) and defeated another Chimera using said skill to predict their moves in battle. And used same skill to keep a mental tab on another Chimera. However, during a coup, the same telepathic Chimera suddenly can't/doesn't use their skill which would have prevented the whole mess. But right after that part, goes back to using it. The Chimera do not have the ability to cloak their thoughts, only their makers do as it was cleared spelled out later in the book.
Main characters follow a other character down a mine shaft to be shown something only to be forced to retreat by deteriorating conditions that said character knew about in advance and character took them halfway down before abandoning the adjective. Guessing it was to be able to kill off a couple lesser characters but felt messy and rushed.
One of the characters was killed off simply for having a infected bite that didn't turn them and could be used as a cure right at the end of the book. Only reason being they wouldn't have fit into the ending. The cause of death was laughable, a perfectly timed and placed laser killed character but didn't harm anyone else or the transport.
Last but not least, ending had the error of ice in glass of plum juice, yet no mention of any type of refrigeration in that climate and they still bath in rivers so apparently no running water. Also, despite a 200,000 year time difference, all the animals were the same as modern day species when there was definitely different ancestors that far back. And the Chimera somehow ending up being the Eve/Lucy that all modern humans evolved from.
Last book felt rushed and was all over the place, which was a disappointment seeing as so much effort and detail had gone into the first three.
I liked the ending - there was 360 degrees turn - they came back to earth, where they really belonged, even though at a different time.
It reminds us of the importance of taking care of what we have and look at our planet as our forever residence and care for it appropriately.
There was some silliness in the book but hey, this is a science fiction storytelling, not a book of science, and all was fast paced and fun.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book series! I will look for other of your books!
PS; I also liked the number of pages per book in the series, which was completely adequate series of 4 books with 1452 pages. I think that 360 pages is what I call adequate for a book. I have seen book series of 3 books, with 160 pages per book - what could have been a good story, completely watered down with fillers, in order to make it a series.

What more do you neeed if you enjoy the tale along the way.
I can always find fault but that would be churlish, especially for one of my favourite writers.

On the whole, very fast moving and enjoyable.

The characters are easy to sympathise with too.
Would recommend it to any sci-fi buff.

Fast paced,engaging characters,pure escapism,beautifully crafted.
The boxed set represents weeks of entertainment for a bargain price.
Highly recommended.
