Assassin: Revelations Cycle Series, Book 11 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
Depik. The race of catlike assassins is feared galaxy-wide. Few living people have seen them, as the sight of one is usually the last thing its victim sees.
Clan politics on the Depik home world of Khatash are complicated, with clans jockeying for contracts and the prestige and wealth they bring. There's only one rule: Depik do not kill other Depik. Ever.
When Reow is implicated in killing the Depik governor, though, her clan is declared anathema. Her four offspring are placed under interdict - they are to be killed on sight - and Del, Flame, Blade, and Death must flee with their molly, Susa.
With Reow dead and Hunters tracking them across the galaxy, will they live long enough to find the real killer, or will they find themselves assassinated by their own kind?

The last thing that really threw me out of the book several times and never was very well answered At least that I found Was the peacekeeper messenger He basically waited a week before he gave the message that he brought And instantly everyone knew And attacked them. No I just giving a message or playing a message Suddenly caused the den to be attacked and then declared outlaws
Filled with action, political intrigue, humor and pathos, this book colors in more details about a fascinating universe and a fascinating species in the Depik.
For those unacquainted...
You've probably heard at some point that housecats would make the perfect assassins. Add opposable thumbs, the option to walk upright, and the power to turn invisible, and Depik reputation as galactic bogeymen is well earned. 'Assassins' is a deliciously complex tale of palace intrigue that explores the inter- and intraspecies politics of the 4HU's Galactic Union. Ezell excels in juggling multiple plotlines at a fun pace that never gets bogged down. The Depik themselves are simultaneously familiar and alien, demonstrating the playful capricious nature normally found in fairies and elves. I love it!
Enjoyed the heck out of this one and will definitely be grabbing more books from her.
What can i say without giving away the plot.........if you have read the rest of the series then you know who this book is about or at least the race it's about, its well worth the read and the time.

Politics between Depik clans on Katash are subtle and deadly with the most prestigious contracts being attributed in the Depik’s High Council where the Dammas (or lead female) of each clan sits. Reow is the head of Night Wing, a small but successful and talented up-and-coming clan that includes her four offspring and their human servant/nurse and retainer. Wrongly accused of the cardinal crime of killing another Depik, the whole clan is placed under anathema and its various members hunted across the galaxy, with one of them seeking help from human mercenaries.
The story is entertaining, even if somewhat predictable, and the Depiks themselves are among the most fascinating aliens of the Four Horsemen Universe. Fans of this universe will recognise both Reow and Arrow who have (separately) previously appeared in two collections of short stories. It is however unnecessary to have read these to fully enjoy this novel. Five stars fpr a thoroughly enjoyable read.
If you are not knowledgeable, go grab Cartwright's Cavaliers right away and get hooked! Be warned though, addictive content!
This book is one more story about the Depik, a race of cat-like assassins who can vanish more or less at will and are killers for hire, provided the Price is right.
This book gives us a big insight in the Depik society as well as their interactions with the outer world.
Without wanting to totally spoil your reading, let's say that Reow's progeniture is, all of a sudden, condemned to a dreadful fate, due to the misdeeds of their Clan head and they do their best to clear the name of their clan and avenge their dama, thus giving us more insight in quite a few other mercenary races.
A worthy addition to the 4HU which makes you yearn for more Depik stories, particularly if you're a cat lover!
What started as a short story set in the 4 Horsemen Universe, has expanded to what is now several novels and short stories.
Someone has framed the Night Wind clan for killing the Depik Peacemaker and Governor. Killing another Depik means you are instantly the subject of a Kill On Sight order. With their mother Reow, killed already, the four kits split up, to discover just who commited this horrible deed. Death, along with her human servant, travels to Earth, to hide with the help of the Golden Horde. Flame travels off-world with a Human Bounty Hunter who had been hired by the previous Peacemaker, before the murder. Deluge, who was off-world working as an assassin, finds himself in charge of a group of Mercenaries, and sekks out a human to take over and lead them. Blade, disguises himself, and infiltrates the clan he suspects is responsible.
All four act individually, but eventually the story concludes with all of them gathering together to pool their info and bring the enemy to justice.
