Antonia Rachel Ward is an author of horror and speculative fiction, based in Cambridgeshire, UK. Her short stories and poetry have been published by Blackspot Books, Kandisha Press, and Orchid’s Lantern, among others. Her erotic horror novella, MARIONETTE, was published by Brigid’s Gate Press in August 2022 and her second novella, ATTACK OF THE KILLER TUMBLEWEEDS! is forthcoming in May 2023.

She is also the founder and editor-in-chief of Ghost Orchid Press.

This super-fun, quick read is a rollicking homage to 1950s Americana from its B-movie monsters, Atomic Age obsession with alien invasion, and the coolness of the Rat Pack/mobster clique in Vegas. The imagination it takes to turn something as humble as the tumbleweed into an unstoppable killing force both amazed and made me laugh even while I was cringing from the horrific happenings. Showgirl Glitter and washed-up Hollywood star Dean Valentine team up with a pair of seemingly naïve, yet ultimately resourceful newlyweds when the Vegas strip is overrun with, well, killer tumbleweeds. Clever plotting and thrills along with truly chilling scenes make this a great find for fans of retro horror. Includes two bonus short story reprints at the end which are both entertaining in their own right as well.
