Every time RE Butler releases a new book it reaffirms why she is one of my favorite authors. This is number 12 in the Were zoo book series. Atticus is a gorilla shifter, he is the alpha and a bit older than the other gorillas. Wasn’t sure if he was ever going to find his one true mate. That is until he met Lori. Lori is staying at the apartments in the park because her daughter has met her mate. Lori does not know anything about shifters, and when Atticus meets her all they know is there’s a connection that cannot be denied, and Atticus is sure that she is the one. Besides Atticus having a secret, Lori has a big secret to, which may cost her her life. She has been on the run for over 20 years with her daughter, and now she feels she needs to run again to keep everyone safe. Did not turn out very well, and now Atticus has set out to save her. This book was amazing, and once again has everything you could want in a romance book. RE Butler never disappoints. Seriously if you want to start reading books that will never bore you, and short enough where you’re not waiting two weeks to find out what’s going to happen then you need to start reading RE Butler. I love the zoo series, but she has many more series that I love just as much. Do yourself a favor and make this author part of your reading library.

I really enjoyed reading this story featuring Atticus (gorilla shifter) and Lori (human woman). Lori is Novi's mom from the book before this one (her mate was Cael) and Atticus is the alpha of the gorilla band. I really liked that this story was about another of the alphas finding their mate. The main characters were likeable, as were the secondary ones. The sex was hot though it wasn't the main focus, their relationship was. The danger came from Lori's ex-boyfriend (can't remember right off if that's what he was or if he was a one night stand that resulted in Novi), who was a piece of work and a polar bear shifter (she didn't know that).

I hope the rest of the alphas find their true mates and indeed, the rest of the shifters in the zoo. This would mean more books, which means I'd be one very happy reader. There were several grammatical errors.

The tour didn't always connect and produce positive results. However the park definitely continues to be a link that couples are meeting their mates. In this story this person had a stalker for more than 20 years. The park provided safety for her and daughter. The Shifters in this park are kind and eager for their mates are willing to go to the ends of the earth to protect them. The alpha finds that he has to do that to protect her. Great storyline and love the characters and the series.

I sometimes wonder if this is the same Author that writes the Ashland Pride, Vampire Beloved books.
Those books are so well written with so much character development and real interaction between characters. I love those books.
These Were Zoo books are lacking in real connection and storyline. There’s so much description about doing nails, hair, eating, there’s just not enough of a storyline between the main characters.
I’m disappointed in these books.
