Christmas Sunshine x Grumpy Scrooge, but they're cute together!

I came across this book and started it without realizing that it was the third book of a series (oops) but honestly, it was fairly easy to catch up and understand what's going on. That being said, I gave this book a 4/5 because despite it having a semi slow beginning, and our main guy being a complete butthead, the overall story was adorable and fun to listen to. I do warn that there is some angst and spice, and our main guy seriously needs some therapy.

"Along Came Holly" is a fun read in regards to it having components of the Enemies to Lovers trope and Sunshine x Grumpy trope. This could totally be a Hallmark Christmas movie, but in a good way! I loved the modern tech that's included in the story to make the story seem as if it really could be someone's story irl.

Would I recommend it?
Yes! It was definitely a fun book to read (listen) as the holidays are quickly approaching. I honestly think you could finish the book in less than 3 days! I took a little longer finishing the book since I was going through personal issues, but it was super cute! Again, I do warn that there is some angst and a good chunk of spice!

Cute grumpy/sunshine holiday romcom

Holly is the youngest of the Winters siblings. She owns the gift shop in town and LOVES Christmas! Her business neighbor Declan does not and is Scrooge want the music and decorations at every turn.

Their friendship/relationship develops slowly as they have mutual friends together and are forced to work together on things.

Enemies to lovers in a cute romcom way

I needed to finish this series and I’m so glad it was a dual POV narration. It was a great story and then around 70% I started getting less invested. The fake love triangle/joint bachelor-bachelorette lost me. It still had some really funny moments and Holly is just as loveable as in the first 2 books. Cannot be read as a standalone, but that’s okay because it’s a good conclusion for the series.

Love this series! This one fits in well with the other two in this series, and I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a light, fun, holiday romance.

This was super weird. I was reading another book while listening to this one, and aside from the Xmas aspect in Along Came Holly, I felt like I was experiencing the same book! The pranks, the gnomes, the enemies to lovers/grumpy-sunshine trope, the main character with an artist gene, the super duper slow-mo.

The holiday background gave this story and appealing vibe, but I just couldn't connect with the main characters nor the romance. I was also a bit put off by the audio narration. It wasn't a terrible Siri/Alexa like monotone, but it still felt off.

I've read good review about the previous two books in the series, so I'll be giving those a try.

A great holiday listen

Loved listening to this! So much that O see there are others in the series and I will be listening to them. The story is fun and fresh. The characters are delightful and the antics adorable! I laughed at the antics between Holly and DeClan as well as other characters in the story. This is a fun one and a keeper for holiday listening.

I did listen to this in audio. The narration is done nicely. Now I am on to the first two in the series

A Light and Fluffy Holiday Romance

This is a sweet Christmas romance, apparently the third in a series. A holiday loving extrovert (Holly) crosses (figurative) swords with an apparently Scrooge-esq introvert (Declan). No one doubts from moment one that the two will end up together, it’s just a matter of how Hall will get us there and she chooses a very good path.

The novel starts off with a very cute “prank war” between Holly and Declan in which each strives to get the better of the other in what are truly good-natured holiday pranks. Somewhere in the midst of the war everyone around the two realize that despite their protestations to the contrary, Holly and Declan are interested in each other. But it takes a lot more of the book for them to start giving into their feelings. Part of the problem is that Declan’s parents have screwed him up and stolen his dreams and he needs to come to grips with what his relationship with them before he’s ready to open up with Holly.

This is a light and fluffy holiday romance that will help to cultivate your Christmas spirit.
