Imagine finding out you had relatives you didn’t know about, grandparents included, and oh yeah you being the last living heir to the monarchy in said grandparent’s country?! Lilly Campbell got the biggest shock of her life, and with Keller Fitzwilliam, she was going to need all the help she could get.
Honestly, the way I would describe this book would be, Princess Diaries meets Fifty Shades of Gray, Hilarious, Grumpy/Sassy Sunshine, SPICE, romance, and overall an amazing story to jump into. From beginning to end, I was having so much fun reading that I got so caught up in the story that I lost track of time.
Right away, when being introduced to both Keller and Lilly, it was clear they were total opposites. Keller, was serious, put together, classy, and had that whole, “alpha male” air to him. Lilly, was vivacious, fun, sassy, blunt, and would cuss to her hearts content haha. Seeing Lilly push Keller’s buttons was funny and for Keller while he may have been initially annoyed by it, he grew to like Lilly and her incessant questions/ carefree attitude. Lilly literally had no filter, she would say exactly what was on her mind, and majority of the time it would either result in Keller getting more stressed or…feeling a certain pull towards her, specifically *ahem distinct physical feelings in his pants. Keller was torn between his loyalty and duty to the crown, and falling for Lilly. Lilly was the woman that Keller wasn’t expecting, and yet she ended up being the ideal woman he had dreamt of.
This book wasn’t short on the humor and with Lilly’s no filter talk and pushing Keller’s buttons, there was a lot of laughs to be had. I had no idea what to expect with Lilly’s character before reading so when I started reading the book and reading the things she said without any shame or embarrassment I was like, “ok she’s not only funny, but I’m loving her personality.” Meghan Quinn can do no wrong when it comes to her books, and with Lilly she was easy to love. Now, with Keller, he was just about the grumpiest grumpy you could imagine, BUT MORE! OOOOO and don’t get me started on learning about his preferences in the bedroom *will talk about later* Keller also had his own moments that made me laugh as well.
Keller was indeed the grumpy, alpha male, dominant lead, but as the story progressed, I loved seeing his “softer” side. Keller was always “by the book”, loyal to King Theo, and wanted to ensure the safety of his country, but with so much to do, Keller never really had time for himself. So with Lilly, not only was Keller thrown in for the loop of his life, but he found solace and a kindred soul that understood some of the things he went through such as, the loss of his parents. Initially I wasn’t expecting much in terms of depth with the story, but yet again, Meghan did a fantastic job with Keller’s backstory and the emotional pull with him. There was a lot more to Keller than him just being an alpha lead or being the handsome, dreamt boat we all wanted. So to see Keller reveal bits and pieces about his past, about himself, and truly open up to Lilly was lovely to see.
Even before reading this book, I had a feeling the spice was going to be good, but OMG Meghan really went above and beyond in this book! I had already anticipated some “Fifty Shades of Grey” type stuff to be included in the spicy scenes, and let me just say… “YES, MY KING”! IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW! Keller could command the room, but when it came to the bedroom, he was fully in it to please Lilly and treated her as the most precious thing to him. Clearly through the spice scenes, I could tell that what was going on between Lilly and Keller was more than just desire, it was a deep rooted passion for each other, and genuine care. There was a quote from Lilly that perfectly captured the essence of the type of connection between her and Keller, “There was an emotional level to our intimacy that I wasn’t expecting. His need to protect, to provide, translates into the bedroom, and he made me feel so safe, so important.” I loved the chemistry between Keller and Lilly! Those two were absolutely on fire, fireworks going off, steam oozing from all the intimate moments they shared. Phew with the amount of spice in this book, not only was I blushing (as per usual), but also impressed with the stamina Lilly and Keller had! Also I cannot get over the over Dom/Sub thing in the bedroom which was honestly so hot and my goodness with Lilly calling Keller, “My King”, I thought it was fitting and sexy.
The conflict was an unexpected twist in terms of the person behind it, but it was good since it tied into Keller’s fears/ insecurities. Although Keller was a strong character, he still had his lingering insecurities, and always felt like he wasn’t “good enough” for Lilly. While it was sad to see Lilly feel abandoned, and like Keller wasn’t there for her, I will say that I greatly appreciated the lengths that Keller went to in order to win back Lilly, so if you love to see a man grovel/ try to win back the love of his life, then Keller is the man. In addition, I was swooning and in awe with the sweet, romantic gestures that Keller did for Lilly like come on, it was freaking sweet!
Overall, this was such a fantastic, fun filled, humorous, romantic, sweet, passionate, and heartfelt story! Every page was enjoyable to read, Keller and Lilly were phenomenal characters and come on, made it so easy to fall in love with. Meghan always writes fantastic stories that I fall in love with, and with this story she did it again. This book went beyond my expectations, and I couldn’t get enough of it. From beginning to end, I was laughing, smiling, blushing, and swooning. The perfect balance of everything you could want in a story. I like the way the story ended, and with the epilogue it left me imaging Lilly and Keller’s futures together. I cannot stress how much this book was amazing!

Lilly is a very strategically pierced, free spirit who is living her best life in Miami, spraying down contestants in wet T-shirt contests when Keller Fitzwilliam crashes her life and blows up everything she thinks she knows about her family. Keller is tasked with bringing her back to a grandfather she didn't know she had, to a country she's never heard of, to potentially become heir to their thrown. Keller's just got to get her "presentable" first. Lilly's bubbly personality ends up being Keller's downfall, but will his insecurities get in the way of their happily ever after?"𝑵𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆, 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝑰 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒐. Great storyline with quite a few laugh out loud moments and a twist I didn't see coming. Lilly is just hysterical and unlike anyone Keller has ever met before. She tends to fill in silence with word vomit that leans to the super crass end of the spectrum, lol. She's sassy, but vulnerable and that vulnerability makes the protector in Keller break every rule he has. Keller is the super alpha protector, but he also has the soul of an artist and he can be insecure at times. It made him super relatable and likable despite his screw ups. I felt good about the grovel and grand gesture(s) and finished the book with all the warm fuzzies. Royal romances aren't my favorite, but this one definitely shined!

I read Royally Not Ready and absolutely loved it. The two main characters, Lilly and Keller, have this great connection, and heat, that comes to be expected in a Meghan Quinn book. Then I used one of my Audible credits to download the book for listening. I cannot praise the two narrators enough. Emma Wilder and John Hartley not only shine in their narration skills, they brought the book itself to a whole new level. They truly brought Lilly and Keller to life. In particular, Emma Wilder’s depiction of Lilly is both sexy and funny, and occasionally heartbreaking. The angst of the troubled Keller is nailed by John Hartley.
I’ve never said this about a book before, but Royally Not Ready, already 5 stars in my estimation, is even better on Audible. A narrator can truly make or break an Audible book. One of me very favorite series (not written by Meghan) was so disappointing on Audible because of the horrible choice of a narrator. I could not listen to it. That is not the case with this book.
Irregardless of how her work is presented, Meghan Quinn is simply at the top of the list of authors of this genre. Well done Meghan, well done!

Love, love, loved this book! Finally broke me out of my slump. Got a little long in the tooth there towards the end. I feel like the FMC overreacted a bit, which didn't match up with her super independent attitude - being so reliant on the MMC. Redeemed itself at the end with the swoon worthy romantic efforts! Can't wait for the next one!

Hilarious, fun, sexy, loving, family, loss all rolled into one crazy love story. Enjoyed this one a lot. Lilly was fun and seeking something that has been missing in her life. In walks Keller and turns her world upside down with a long awaited secret. Their chemistry was off the charts though! Woah! Could feel it off the pages.

Lilly is living in South Miami and co-owns a bikini truck, when a man shows up claiming she is next in line for the throne of a tiny obscure country in the Baltic. How is this possible? Turns out her deceased parents never told her that her mother was the daughter of King Theo. Her older siblings all abdicated and have no children, so the country's future rests entirely on Lilly's shoulders. She agrees to a two month trial during which time Keller, the private secretary of the King, is to teach her everything she needs to know, which is a lot. As she learns more about this country she is also learning her fami?y's history. Keller is a man of many talents, as seems typical in this small nation.
This is a fun story with humor, lively banter, and just enough angst to make it interesting.

This was not what I was expecting. . . At all.
I was prepared for a Royal Romance, you know, free-spirited woman finds out she's Royal and has to learn to tame her wild ways and become a lady. A feel good, rise to the occasion romance that has her proving herself and falling head over heels for her bodyguard, which is exactly what I got and so much more.
I was not expecting the spicy element of the story but found it added a deliciousness to the book that I thougherly enjoyed.
Also in true Meghan Quinn fashion, the book had me in stitches on multiple occasions. Lily is a hilarious character and the banter between her and Keller was nothing short of incredible. She did not make life easy for him, but in the most amazing way.
This is a laugh-out-loud, beautifully crafted Royal Romance about finding family and love in the most unexpected places.
I highly recommend Lilly & Kellers love story.

Wow! A book full of laughter, lots of chemistry and heaped with sexual tension! I love Meghan's books and I absolutely loved this one! Lily and Keller are such great characters. I loved Lily's sass, the way she just comes out and says what's on her mind. Her and Keller's first meeting had me laughing out loud, their interaction was fantastic and the sexual tension was off the charts! Definitely needed to fan myself a few times! Lol. The story was brilliant, it had me hooked, I loved the other characters as well, they were all written so brilliantly and had me hooked into their story. The scenes between Keller and Lily were HOT as! 🔥 An absolutely brilliant book and I can't wait for the second one! I feel there is so much more to read about all these characters and I can't wait!!

Lily is plucked from her beach life in Miami and taken to a country and a family she didn’t know existed. At first Kellen isn’t too sure what to make of the new princess, she seems a bit wild. There is an instant attraction there for both of them , but Kellen fights it and Lily isn’t sure why. As they spend time together training her for her new life (which I did find a little boring) they start to see each other for who they really are. Lily is kind, loyal, loving and wants nothing more than to belong. Kellen is stoic and loyal, but also lonely. They understand each other in a way not many people can, but Kellen’s insecurities get in their way and cause heartbreak all around. It was a little too much like a fairytale (with lots of dirty bit, take about hot!).

I’m a huge fan of Meghan Quinn’s books but this one just didn’t hit the mark for me. Lilly was quite an annoying/irritating lead character, I couldn’t feel any empathy for her and the abrupt change in her personality over the course of the book was beyond believable. As for Keller, he had lots of initial potential as a character but as soon as he labelled himself as “King” in the bedroom it was a massive turn off for me - he just came across as a needy control freak with creepy Christian Grey vibes. And where were the laughs - it was supposed to be a romcom? Gah I wanted to love it but it felt like Meghan wrote this one in a rush.
