Always heed warnings

O.M.G....that was my first reaction. Brent really wanted the part and literally did whatever he could to be what the director desired. His buddy recommends acting lessons, Method acting lessons to be exact. My mind was blown once I realized what was happening. I guess he was already teetering on the edge. This was a true James Patterson novel, non stop action and an original storyline.

True James Patterson storyline! I think I would have rather read the book than listened to this. The "acting" was not compatible to the story. I think JP is an amazing author and love every book I have read from him. Maybe sticking to narration by one person would've been better. Really didn't like this one.

Has a warning and it should be heeded

A very intense experience listening to this one. I have not read or listened to any James Patterson in quite a while. This was very different from the other things of his that I have read.
This story comes with a warning about subject matter. I think it is good to add warnings because people can have issues that are triggered.
The story is somewhat disturbing, but is not as bad as I thought it would be given the warning. The story held my interest and was interesting.

Not as good as I'd hoped for

Look, I know famous people get away with more but really???? This was a strange story. I wonder if all psychotic killers think of themselves as "method" actors. Everything was just a bit over the top for my tastes. Story had a good foundation but wasn't built on very well. I enjoyed the full production audio aspect of this story more than the actual story.

James Patterson writes all of the Alex Cross books himself. Whenever you see him listed with a co-author, he writes a detailed outline only and the co-author writes the book. It is the main reason his different series, written by different co-authors, vary in quality and appeal to different people. This did NOT appeal to me and is, along with the Michael Bennett novels, the only one to disappoint.
