How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsAnother stellar read from the author of the Extinction Series!
Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2019
James D. Prescott has delivered on his promise with his latest technothriller that weaves an original plot with great character development into a compelling read that is quite difficult to put down.
I first discovered Prescott’s work when I found The Genesis Conspiracy quite by accident on an Amazon Top 100 Chart. Since then I’ve worked my way through the Extinction Series and have been waiting patiently for his latest book – Augmented.
This is a difficult book to review without giving too much away and spoiling the story and the various plot twists, but I can tell you that I had a few very unproductive days at work due to the late nights sharing Ben Fisher's journey as he tries to discover who he really is after suffering memory loss.
A solid 5 star read and highly recommended to readers of a variety of genres, not just technothriller and science fiction.

3.0 out of 5 starsWell paced and interesting

A very readable fiction with lots of action and tension. It had a very good twist at the end too which makes it differ from the usual Sci Fi cliché plots. Less impressive is the writing and the cliché narrative devices. Writing is readable and solid but has little artistry or complexity one might find in more recognised classic fiction. I tire of the evil alien trop. the evil foreigner troops, especially the evil Iranian or Chinese and the romance which fine is pretty much a cliché too. so some elements of this most readable text might be improved for me anyway.

A spin on reality that is very much plausible. The author really captured the essence and behaviour of current day mankind; and human behaviour that can be seen in society today really solidified the story...

It was something, what can I say; it was tough to put the book down. It had everything a good story needs but never got caught up in the weeds; murder, chases, sci-fi, conspiracy, etc.

It builds like a good story should and finishes cleanly; so glad I picked it up.

Such as great story, all along the way so many twists and turns; but always in the back of my mind I kept thinking this could really happen soon. Excellent job.

Pesky Aliens, always trying to sell you a bill of goods. In this case, one that let all the air out of the bag...so to speak. Nice, I like the action, intrigue and strange history associated with the events laid out in this story. The Moon tie in was classic and I loved the reference to the guy with strange hair. "Aliens, I knew it." Ancient Aliens conspiracy theorist and all around crazy guy...Thanks for a GoodRead.

Having just completed my 2nd read through (i had the pleasure of reading a pre-published version), i can ONLY say that the story hits ALL of my favorite topics; sci-fi, travel, mystery, adventure with a crafty weave of plots and sub-plots !!! I TOTALLY recommend this book and thank you J.D. Prescott for allowing me to join you on this most excellent journey ;-)

This was very imaginative story. At first I thought it was going to be an enhanced kind of alternate superhuman type story, boy was I wrong. The story played out well with the twist of alien contact. That what made the story more enjoyable. There is always a theory out there that we are not the first to inherit the planet Earth. This is just another alternate version to the origin of earth and it's it's inhabitants. Great Story!

Another near future scfi that is believable now. The author is obviously very up to date on more technology, including cutting edge genetic engineering science as well as the usually digital explosion currently taking place around the world. The story follows a very possible future where humans can become genetically enhanced for a price and the possible exploitation of such technology. Riveting to the end, this is a book I would highly recommend to all scfi enthusiasts,

The book was fast paced from cover to cover. There was some suspension of disbelief required in a few sections, but the drama and surprises were welcome. Rather than recapping the book the recommendation is to just read it. It is worth it.

At first when I started reading this book I was disappointed. I am a long time space and science fiction reader. But after a few chapters I finally got into the story line and in the end enjoyed the read and the conclusion.
