I did some comparisons against another webcam I had purchased but was unsatisfied with. I found this one, and thought it would be a good reference for comparison, and it was! The autofocus was snappy and landed where I wanted it for optimal sharpness on me (or my test head in the video). I was not always happy with the color, it tended to be too warm for my taste, but this will work perfectly fine on the Mac mini for my kid's school zoom sessions. I liked that it handled the blacks nicely. If desired, one could buy an app for Mac ($8) or use a free one on Windows to tweak the color and contrast, but for the most part, this is a good webcam for the lighting conditions and scenarios we have intended for it. I include 3 attachments: 1 a short video of a head, two screen shots of video of the same scene, one with the office lights on, and one with them off. The dark goes to uncolored and unnoisy black.
BTW - there is a privacy "in use" red light on it. Not sure if i missed that in the product description, but that is very nice to have as well. (not just sliding the cover over the lens when not in use)

This is a good camera with all the features comparable with those more expensive ones out there. The package is coming with the setup items you need, and installation is very straightforward without any driver to be installed on my window 10 PC. The Mic recording is good: clear and crispy sound. The 1080p video is excellent with wide angel view, the static capture is very decent as well. I have been using it for zoom and skype or other online streaming, all is good. You pay less and get more features you need with this camera.

For about half what people are asking for a feature-comparable Logitech model, I bought two of these. They arrived quickly, I've used one of them for several Zoom meetings already and am quite satisfied. The image may not be as sharp or the autofocus as accurate as a high-end Logitech, but hey, it's just my face. If it's not quite as sharp, maybe I don't need to shave for tomorrow's meeting. WIN!

I needed a camera & microphone for my PC in order to hold and participate in Zoom meetings. This product serves that purpose well. The images are, of course, larger on my PC screen and much preferred over the view that my cell phone gives to me. The images captured by my camera seem to be clear and the microphone seems to pick up my voice and is understood by others. I have nothing to compare the features with but the device meets my needs and wants. The only adaptation I had to make was the mounting of the camera on the top of my monitor. It has a wide framework and, therefore, nothing to clamp the camera to. However, a piece of Gorilla tape on the front locks the camera nicely into place . I am not conversant with the term "sheerness" and, therefore I could not rate it. I do like the sliding cover over the lens and I believe it may also shut off the audio.

Pretty good for the price

Now that everyone's doing video calls, we all need a camera. The sellers know this and if you're like me you were flooded with too many options when searching for one. There are the known names that want two hundred dollars for a unit, and those cheap Chinese ones that go for less than twenty. And the reviews are all over the map for every one! Thanks for nothing fellow consumers, LOL.

Anyway, here's my story, maybe it'll help some of you. After reading all the reviews and getting no help even from professional review sites, I took a shot on this one.

Build Quality
It's fine. I wasn't expecting professional caliber at this price point but it's pretty good. The housing is plastic, but the lens window is clear, the privacy shield slides smoothly, and the cables all worked the first time I plugged them in. The gravity mount is nothing special but if you're not punching your monitor or subjecting it to sudden movements I think it'll be fine.

One of the things I like is that the privacy shield is integrated into the camera as a native design feature, not an afterthought. I'm sure those third-party shields that stick on the camera work fine but this design is much cleaner.

Picture Quality
This is also pretty good. The key criticisms that keep coming up on the cheap web cams (and even some of the expensive ones) are poor exposure, fisheye effect, grainy image, poor autofocus, and color. I was very pleased to find that the Nexigo performed competently in dealing with all of those conditions. Now, it isn't some premium high megapixel camera but it's not horribly weak in any of those areas.

At lower resolutions you do get some graininess, and perhaps the worst part of the image quality is that the color does seem a bit washed out but even then it's not so bad that you couldn't be recognizable in video calls.

At the highest resolution (1080) the picture is clear and you can clearly see details in the background. I did not have exposure issues although I did not really experiment much with filming under really bright light. I did not see a fisheye effect at any of the resolutions and the autofocus seemed to keep focus well on me, and adjusts pretty quickly if I moved.

So far performance of the video streaming has been good. People aren't complaining in meetings that I'm stuttering or pixelating.

Audio Quality
The integrated microphone works fine. Again, it's not a professional mic and since for video calls you're using it effectively like a speakerphone mic, well, it'll probably sound like a speakerphone mic. But I was able to conduct business with no one complaining about my audio. In fact, the mic is good enough to pick up background noise, which may actually be a bad thing.

I cannot make any statement about the supposed stereo capability of the mic(s). The camera housing definitely looks like it has a left and right side hole for this, but I am unlikely to need such a feature. If you're doing a podcast with two people talking, one on each side of the camera, maybe it'll be useful to you.

I like the unit's red "camera on" indicator light and wish they'd have also had a light to indicate when the mic was live.

Other Thoughts
The privacy shield seems a good idea to me. I have no idea if hackers can get to it, or if they can still access the mic, but anyway it is what it is. One other concern is that the camera can achieve a pretty wide angle so if you don't have a backdrop or software to create a virtual one, people will be able to see a lot of your surroundings.

The camera overall is good; it has no critical weaknesses and is more than good enough for my needs.

I have a Mac Mini and a huge monitor but no webcam, and zoom calls were annoying without one. So I read the reviews and got this thing and I am really impressed.

1. The picture is surprisingly bright and clear (of course you have to have good lighting in your room for best results). Nothing's gonna work in a dark room. It's a wider angle than I'd prefer, but that's not a negative. I just have to clean up in here.

2. The microphone has excellent sound. My friend heard me on our latest call and thought I was using my fancy external (Yeti) mic. But it was just the little thing in this webcam. Be aware, if this is important to you, that the mic still registers sound even when the cam is not on. You can turn it off in your sound settings, or unplug it when not in use if you don't want that to happen.

3. I like the sliding shutter window that closes the cam when you're not using it. It's built in, not stuck on like some of the other models I saw available.

Very happy with this purchase.

There's only the ability to adjust focus and brightness, so white balance is fully automatic which for some people with mixed lighting might be distracting. But for me I set my webcam light to match the ambient light (6500k for day, 5200k for night). So it's not a problem.

I particularly liked the shallow depth of field. With manual focus enabled using Windows Camera, I was able to focus on just my face, blurring the background a bit and the foreground a lot.

The image quality is a bit punchy (contrasty) but I found it aesthetic and kind of unique. I'm looking forward to standing out at my next Zoom call.

The onboard audio is just fine, no worse that any other webcam I've tested. But I use a USB mic and headphone for quality anyway.

Camera worked well at first, but random white lines started to appear on the left side of the image (see video) after awhile. Had to return the camera.

Moreover, as reported by other reviewers, the autofocus of this camera is somewhat jerky. It has a tendency to randomly refocus even when nothing is moving. Overall, very bad experience. Don't know if I just got a random dud, or if there is a more profound quality control issue?

I wanted to upgrade my 720P Logitech for my office camera. Normally, I'd go Logitech but availability and price made me look elsewhere. I read the reviews and this one stood out. I picked it up on an amazon sale so that was even better. Its plug and play. Video quality is great. Mic quality is good too but it did create some echo (this is also how I have my speakers), suggesting the mic is more sensitive. Took some time to figure out how to configure MS Teams, Zoom, and FB Messenger recognized this camera but once they its been great.

Not Great - Auto Focus is Terrible

Use this camera almost every day now. The worst part of this is the autofocus. It goes in and out of focus constantly making the video stream jump around. The video quality isn't that good. Video is okay at best if you got good lighting. Looks good if your video is a tiny square/rectangle but if you have your video window larger on-screen you can really see anti-aliasing around objects and the pixellated/grainy video. If you have a 1080p monitor the video quality does not at all look like 1080p, seems very low res. You get what you pay for I guess. The microphone works well though so far no issues with it on calls.
