About Ava Mallory
Ava Mallory - Laugh-out-loud mysteries with a side of Latin flair!
Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestselling Author Ava Mallory writes inclusive, laugh-out-loud mysteries with a side of Latin flair. Her fictional characters are based on the people she knew and loved in her native Spain and the many U.S. locations she lived in after moving to the States in the late 1980s. Her characters are feisty, fun-loving, and full of life... unless they're not. (She writes mysteries after all.)
AVA is best known for her Mercy Mares traveling nurse cozy mysteries that feature a middle-aged Latina nurse who is a champion of patients and a magnet for trouble. Mercy's sidekicks are the who's who of quirky characters with big hearts - like the people Ava grew up with.
AVA earned a degree in psychology and a degree in nursing with a certification in geriatric/Alzheimer's care. She lives minutes from Chicago with three of her four children (The oldest left the nest & Ava's not been the same since.) and their Dorkie (Yorkie/Daschund) dog named Chacha, the actual Queen of the Mallory castle.

Read the seventh book in the New York Times bestselling I Just Want to Pee Alone series!
Remember when we thought motherhood was hard when the kids were little? Ha! Now we realize it's damn near impossible when they're teenagers! The days of potty-training, bubble-wrapping every sharp corner, and begging for a freaking minute to pee alone are long behind us. We don't read bedtime stories or sing lullabies to our children anymore. Instead, we're communicating via TikTok videos and tracking them on their cellphones every time they leave the house. We lose sleep wondering if we've done enough or overdone it.
There was a time when we longed to be left alone and now we can't get our teenagers to spend any time with us. When we're not begging or bribing them to hang out, we're banning them from leaving the house just so we can have some "family time" together.
Raising teens is not for the faint of heart but it's still a wild and terrific ride. For all the angst and drama teenagers cause, they're also smart, hilarious, and fun to be around (if they let you hang out with them).

Welcome to Poppy County, where over-zealous witches, small-town gossip, curious coincidences, and a revolving door of cantankerous sheriffs run amok!
A pair of wealthy real estate developers have cast a wide net in their search for the next hot market and think they've found a goldmine in the quaint hillside town of Poppy County, but their offers ring too good to be true for local witches Lola Rae and her granddaughter, Missy. When their salvage shop is ransacked, Lola is convinced the wealthy duo want more than their historical properties. Proving that, however, proves difficult when the crime spree takes an unexpected turn.
Everyone fears their business will be next, but no one feels the pressure more than Interim Sheriff Colby Friar. It doesn't take him long to realize the burglars might be the least of his problems.
Can Lola, Missy, and their reluctant cohort root out the brazen thieves and bring an end to their criminal empire before it's too late?

When the annual Halloween Trail Hike ends in murder, resident witch Missy Rae finds herself in a sticky conundrum.
Legend has it that her ancestors committed a series of similar crimes in the past, so it’s only natural she and her meddling family members are to blame.
Although they can’t yet prove their innocence, they can do what they do best – create chaos – to root out the killer and expose a sinister scheme to rid their hometown of all witches.
Can Missy, her precocious Granny, a heavy-drinking cousin, a retired witch hunter, and her eternally angry mother find the culprit before he or she strikes again?
The Missy Rae Mysteries are written as standalone novels in the same witch-tastic world!

What happens when the person you trust the most betrays you? That’s the question posed in Betrayed, a powerful collection of stories about love, violence, and survival. The characters in these pages may suffer and bleed, but they fight back. They are survivors — not victims.
In Terri Lynn Coop’s Legal Aid, an overworked lawyer takes on a complex divorce case that just may get her fired ... or killed.
An invalid who believes his neighbor is tormenting his young wife takes matters into his own hands in Wendy Tyson’s Soap.
When a private investigator is hired to find someone who appears to have disappeared from the face of the earth, he questions whether some people should be found in How Not to Find Someone in Houston by Liam Sweeney.
And in Elizabeth Heiter’s The Second Shot a teenage girl is convicted of murdering her abusive father ... but is she really guilty?
As a bonus, New York Times bestseller Allison Brennan contributed the novella, Mirror, Mirror, about what happens when a police detective suspects her sister is hiding a dark secret ... a secret that just may get them both killed.
These stories and more fill the pages of the first anthology published by Authors on the Air. Victims become victors and – hopefully – justice is served.
Every author has donated their time and stories. Profits from this anthology are being donated to programs and organizations that help victims of domestic violence reclaim their lives.
For a traveling nurse, that's a bad problem to have. An even worse problem is waking up from a cat nap to find her homebound client, the country's #1 true crime podcaster, dead... and half the police force at the front door.
As the only other person in the house, Mercy knows she's in a world of trouble.
With stacks of investigative notes for an upcoming podcast, she doesn't have access to, a growing list of suspects, a mysterious neighbor, who may or may not be a stalker, the police breathing down her neck, and her worried husband desperate for her to return home, Mercy has a lot on her proverbial plate, and none of it is particularly appetizing.
As she searches for answers, the body count grows at an alarming rate and all roads lead to her.
Can she catch a killer and clear her name before the heinous crimes are pinned on her?
Cardiac Arrest is the eleventh title in the Mercy Mares Cozy Mystery Series. Each can be read as a standalone. This action-packed novella is approximately 30,000 words of cozy mystery fun.
With a small group of her closest friends and relatives by her side, Mercy finds her way in and out of trouble.
Burglars? No problem. A bank heist? Sure. A cold case? Absolutely. Murder? Kidnapping? Organized crime? She’s ready to solve any case.
Keep herself out of the line of fire? Not so much.
