Amazon prime video

I purchased this to watch on Amazon prime, DVDs are no longer needed. When I first watched this movie, I was very happy to become a child again. I was laughing and surprised at how wonderful the story line was so believable. This has all the earmarks of the shows I used to watch when I was a kid. They aught to make more shows like this. When a show such as this makes me laugh and cry, I forget about the bad aspects of real life..... being it is only temporary. Show this movie to all your families,,,, just an idea.
Have fun.

So fabulous love it

One of my favorite kids movies ever. Loved it so much I recreated the table with the Queen and had dinner with 4 of our grand children.
Watched the Movie then proceeded to the queens dinner.

Please understand that I cannot be helping it, if I sometimes is saying things a little squiggly.

The meal consisted of BFG vegetable stew, strawberries with whip cream dessert, cucumber slices on rye bread. Dahl’s Chicken salad sandwiches, gold glitter cupcakes, Frobscottle to drink, I found glass bottles at hobby lobby with the metal clamps and used sparkling Lemon lime ice for the drink. The table was set with clear crystal dinnerware, white linen napkins, gold plastic silverware and of course, tea.

I hung gold stars dangling from the ceiling. Found a 70's standing candle holder that had a gold globe under the base, used that for the crumpet. A large green vase worked perfect for BFG frobscottle. Found a silver glittery large crown at hobby lobby, was suppose to be a tree topper, but worked perfect for table decor. Couldnt find a barbie doll read sweater, so I swiped a read sweater from a snowman we had laying around. Made their ears from elf Christmas hats I found at dollar tree-took the felt ears off and glued them to litl girl hairbands. Whoopie cushions on the chairs worked great for whizzpopping - hehe

Their take home bags consisted of: Made glittery phizzwizards jars {pinterest},
dream jars with little notepads to create their dreams. Copy of BFG book
Found sheets on internet- how to make your own Dahl words.

It was a great time, Just makin memories. I is trying my very best all the time.

Will not play in the USA.

This is one big rip. In the ad it did not state that this blu ray disc is a area B only. Do not buy if you live in the us and have a type A player. The one to get is in the yellow package that is playable in us. Amazon needs to update this ad and add this information in it.

DVD didn't work
Verified purchase
I bought this DVD for my godson's birthday. Since his family ended up moving, the birthday party didn't happen until about two month after the purchase. Since then, I asked his mom how he liked the movie, and she kind of paused and said, "Well....it didn't work." She hadn't told me because she didn't want me to feel bad; however, now I felt even worse that it didn't work and it was so long since the purchase that nothing would probably be done about the defective item. I learned my lesson when purchasing.

I liked the 3D effects and also the special features. Great movie even better in 3D!! Caution - this is a region B (or 2) DVD. It requires a region free DVD player.

BFG giant hit
Verified purchase
It takes a few minutes into the film to grab your attention, but when it happens it has a good story plot, fine acting, the graphics are top notch..this is definitely a hit for the whole family. For younger children there is a few moments through out the movie when the bigger giants are searching for the child. It is not graphic but it may be intense for the smaller children. Overall, a great movie that teaches about friendships, loyalty, kindness, and courage. Truly a delight.

Stride-for-stride with the book, and that's a real compliment!
Verified purchase
It lives up to the book, and that's really saying something! I got the book for a grandson when he was 7, and now that he's in his late 20s he really enjoyed the movie. I read it aloud to my second grade class back in 1983, and they loved it, too. Hope they have pleasant flashbacks when watching this film .... Mark Rylance is brilliant, and perfectly cast as voice-over and model for the animated BFG.

Good movie but not one I'd put on my "see it again" list
Verified purchase
We watched this movie as a family and I thought it was good though a little drawn out and boring at times. My 7 year old daughters watched it with me and they enjoyed it as well; though they were afraid a few parts would be scary and even walked away at a few. It's a good movie overall with a nice message, but it gets ridiculous in a few places and I don't think it's one of those movies we'd watch again and again.
