"What are you doing now that your team is out of the running for the Stanley Cup?"
Forget.
I need to forget. I need an escape.
Only one person isn't falling for my reputation as the NHL's Golden Boy; she captured my attention the minute she called me out for snooping through my best friend's house. She didn't want to hear my reason--she only wanted to playfully give me a hard time.
Adalyn is bold, sassy--and the perfect escape.
She's everywhere. In town and in my dreams, and suddenly I need to spend every waking moment with her.
And I do, making this summer the best off-season I've ever had.
But in the midst of getting lost in Adalyn, what I don't expect is to get her pregnant.
And what I definitely don't expect is having to fight for her affection.

Then what really took the book down even more was making this a love triangle between Adalyn and a nursing school friend Logan. Logan and Adalyn were great friends who have sex once then he tells her it was a mistake and that’s that. She’s broken hearted but they end up moving on as friends.
She then proceeds to get knocked up by Hayden when she skips several birth control pills because that’s normal for a woman whose a nurse. Hayden who is a hockey player gets traded and he asks her to come but instead she says no AND keeps the baby news to herself.
Hayden eventually finds out about the baby and starts fighting for her at this point because he loves her. Adalyn moves to LA so Hayden can be the dad he wants to be. We then get dear friend Logan who not only moves to LA to be with Adalyn and moves in with her but he decides to confess his love for her. Does she say “I’m sorry but I’m in love with my baby daddy.”? Nope! From this point it’s her inner dialogue of confusion between the guys and her lying to and playing each of them.
If you want sweet fun romance this isn’t for you. This was just a hot mess of a heroine who had no idea what she was doing or what she wanted.
So disappointed.
For the first half of the book, she was very interested getting to know him and they spent all of their free time together. He even took her on a fun work trip where he had to do a photo shoot and they had an amazing time. Hayden proved over and over how much he cared about her by asking her to wait before they became intimate because he wanted to get to know her first. Their chemistry and physical connection was amazing, but the moment he received the news that he was transferred to California to another hockey team, she dropped him and became cold and distant. She wouldn’t even speak to him and just dismissed him as if their time together didn’t matter. He was confused and heartbroken as was I as the reader.
After her complete 180, I no longer wanted them together. I felt he could do much better than to be with someone who refused to communicate with him, especially with the news that he was going to be a father. She did move to California to be near Hayden once he found out she was pregnant, but pretty much ignored him and allowed her male friend, Logan, someone she had slept with in the past, to move in with her knowing it would hurt Hayden. Adalyn claims she was confused as she was never in a relationship before, yet she had no trouble talking to Logan who obviously was interested in much more than being her friend.
Adalyn’s main reason for not wanting to be with him was bogus. She claimed she couldn’t be with him because of the distance of where they both lived and amount of time he would be away working. Well, she knew from the moment she met him he played hockey professionally and the team traveled for away games. She also knew he would have time off because when she met him it was their off season. She also knew he would be home after practice and home games. Another reason I didn't buy her excuse is because she was from NY and he played for Philadelphia which is still three states apart and that was ok, but as soon as he was transferred to CA, it was no longer ok. He told her how he felt about her, asked her to go with him and she flat out refused. I understand that it’s hard to leave your friends and family, but since she didn’t go when he asked, I didn’t feel she loved him.
What if he were in the military, or an obstetrician or a police officer getting calls all hours of the night to report to work. There are many professions that take people away from their families but you work it out if you love them. This is the part I have trouble with and thus the two stars. I have to admire and respect the heroine to rate it higher and I didn’t after how she treated him. I have to want the hero and heroine to be together, and I didn't reading One Baby Daddy, because he deserved better.
Should’ve taken the advice of the other one star reviews and completely skipped this book.
Let’s preface by saying that I LOVED the first two books in the series. When we met Hayden in 3 blind dates, I was smitten.
Maybe my expectations for his love story were too high? No woman would be good enough? Whatever the case, the heroine was total indecisive garbage.
Like others have stated, she starts out innocent enough. Somewhat likeable.
*SPOILER*
But the moment we find out she’s pregnant she sucks. She keeps the pregnancy from Hayden. The addition of Logan (prior dude she banged who is obsessed with her even though he dumped her post bang) only fueled my irritation.
Made it 63% into the book, almost chucked the iPad to the wall before skipping ahead and rolling my eyes throughout the epilogue.
I demand a Hayden story redo Meghan! PLEASE.
Spoilers....
First, Adalyn can't admit she has real feelings for Hayden and basically crushes him.
Then she allows him to think she's got feelings for her friend Logan, she doesn't...but she also leads Logan along while she's at it...
Then she finds out she's pregnant and decides not to tell Hayden which is downright evil IMO...
Then she moves across the country to be near Hayden, giving him hope that they'll end up together but...surprise...she's still leading Logan along and once again crushes Hayden, who still consistently treats her like a queen, despite not necessarily deserving it...
Then she sleeps with Hayden, gives him hope and crushes him AGAIN...
it's just too much! By the end of the book I kind of hated Adalyn and she has one moment where she admits to herself that she's been treating Hayden like crap, but it's not enough to redeem her.
Just really a frustrating read.

I loved this book!!!
Hayden is a hockey player; his team have recently lost and to get away from it all he decides to go visit his best friend Racer. There he meets Adalyn and she changes everything for him.
Adalyn has been burnt in the past her best friend Logan, they drunkenly spent the night together and he told her it was a mistake so when she meets Hayden she is cautious but very interested.
Hayden has a hard time getting Adalyn to open up to him and fully committing to their relationship and when something major happens with his career she uses it as an excuse to run.
The only problem is that Adalyn finds out something major once Hayden has left that will leave them connected forever. Will she tell him? Will he fight for her? How will she cope when someone tries to throw a spanner in the works?
You will not regret reading this book Meghan is a genius!!
