About the authors
Carolyn Keene and Franklin W. Dixon are the pseudonyms under which many ghostwriters penned the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series, respectively. Both series were created by Edward Stratemeyer, founder of the Stratemeyer Syndicate book packaging firm, in the late 1920s and early 1930s.
Stratemeyer's daughter, Harriet, and syndicate writer Mildred Wirt Benson were the two people primarily responsible for bringing the iconic character of Nancy Drew to life in the minds and hearts of millions of readers around the world.
Macky Pamintuan is a children's book illustrator from Davao, Philippines. He moved to San Francisco, California in 1998 and earned his BFA at the Academy of Art University in 2003.
His past clients have included HarperCollins, Sterling Publishing, Simon & Schuster, Harcourt-Brace, Random House, Bloomsbury USA, Mcgraw-Hill, Scholastic, Soundprints, Peaceable Kingdom Press and many others.
He currently lives in the Philippines as a husband to Aymone, father to Ali and a grumpy walker to Winter & Autumn.

She has also gotten her best friend hooked on these books, and they developed a cute trading system, so that they don't both buy the same books, and once they finish a book, they trade it with each other for books they haven't read yet!
The fun thing about these books is that they're an easy read, the mysteries and plot twists are not so complicated that a young reader or listener can't keep up, the subject matter has so far always been age appropriate as has the writing and themes (ie, no romance, nothing scary, nothing adult, etc), and there are enough clues in the story that your child might actually figure out the mystery before Nancy does (leading to an immense sense of satisfaction for your child).
We love these books. Highly recommend them.
book, its good for young detectives
