Very light & little insight

I'm a huge "Back to the Future" fan. I ravenously absorb every morsel of detail surrounding those movies that I can. I was anxiously awaiting this movie to give me a deep dive behind the scenes of my favorite franchise. Instead, it's mostly a series of puff pieces about various BTTF fan groups, Delorean customizers, & charity work. Now, I'm not knocking any of that stuff. They seem to be doing good work. But it's just not that interesting.

For what it is, it's very well made. It's well shot & edited. The sound is good. Some of the music is great, especially the acoustic guitar version of the main "Back to the Future" theme played at the beginning.

I guess it's just that I was expecting "Hearts of Darkness" and what I got was more like "Trekkies." Now, if you're interested in a real in-depth look at the movies themselves, I recommend "We Don't Need Roads" by Caseen Gaines--

Great inside of Back to the Future Franchise!

This give us a great inside view of the early days before, and after the making of these awesome movies! Like, Back to the future part 2 was almost supposed to be set in the 1960's? It was someone else playing Marty Mcfly for the first six weeks of filming. All the Back to the future fanatics around the world. This documentary brings me back to my childhood, watching Back to the Future for the first time!

Good view of back to the future film of how the concept of it's origin, how the time machine first came up, how the idea of the plot came to be, how many studios rejected, the pop culture of the film itselfs and preserve the iconic car itself. Well documented with creators, stars of the film, and other people who were inspire to do their show after viewing the film in their youth.

Mostly about fan culture.

Mostly about fan culture. Thought it was going to be more about the actual making of the movie - trailers boasted of interviews with the directors/actors and that's why I bought it but that part of it was minimal
